So, because i'm a little insane I decided to edit my own little "concept" teaser for Star Trek 3. I called it Star Trek Reborn because I have no idea. Only a vague "prediction" is hinted at in the teaser and the notes for how Kirk may return. Spock, compelled by his Vulcan senses to reach out into deep space, Klingons experimenting with their own version of Red Matter... Use your imagination. I'm sure there's a way that could tie together with Kirk Prime coming back.

Keep in mind this is rough. Damn rough. I spent three hours total on this, including collecting all the footage, so the time actually spent editing was very low. If I was really really serious about this I probably would have spent several days and done a lot more sophisticated editing to the footage. (I would have effectively created new shots.)
Credits are given at the end of the video, and additional/extended credits are given in the information bar.
Well. Fine. Be that way.
Actually, it's a fair point, I 'spose.

- Spock would be suffering some kind of visions, compelling him to deep space. He would contact The Enterprise during it's five year mission and ask for their help.
- The Klingons would be experimenting with their own version of Red Matter (and thusly creating their own tears in space/causing the Federation all manner of grief.)
- Kirk and Carol falling in love, and having a serious relationship, including the potential for a pregnancy. Forcing Kirk and Carol to strongly consider returning home.
- Kirk "Prime" meeting his nuVerse self, along with the entire nuCast, and building the final piece of nuKirk's persona.
- A skirmish between Klingon warships and a Federation flotilla.
- Kirk Prime and Spock Prime reunited after nearly 25 years since their last on screen appearance together.
- For the 50th, some additional appearances by Michael Dorn as a Klingon Fleet Commander, Marina Sirtis taking over as the ships computer, a gracefully aged Jolene Blalock as a council member on New Vulcan.
Yes, it's rather fan wank. I don't care. I cut loose on purpose, because why not?

I'm not sure things are noticeably worse in the AU. One world lost Vulcan, the other lost Romulus (which, thanks to 139 years of foreknowledge, likely won't happen in the AU). Praxis blew up sooner or later. Imagine if, in Star Trek 3 or 4, Kirk frees the entire Borg Collective...
Well. Fine. Be that way.
