Okay, I "thought" I had read the incident upon this particular page at the "Hero Comm(unicator)" site, but I no longer see it. Unless the site has a page listing the various edits made over time, there's no way I can prove I really did see it.

However, there does seem to be published accounts about a union issue. In its article about Chang, this Memory Alpha page quotes the Justman and solow book "Inside Star Trek: the Real Story", even siting the page numbers where the passage was retrieved.

It doesn't state the destruction of the Romulan ship miniature, so it's possible that element was an embellishment by fans, one that HeroComm originally posted and later retracted.
In short, h3ll, I don't know what's real anymore. It's possible I'm just delusional.
Sincerely,
Bill
EDIT: Ah, I see that Maurice has provided a source for the anecdote. So I guess I really did read something like that after all.
