The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

As promised. 5 PoA Cap and Wolvie with 14 PoA MU versions.

and with the new 5 PoA Loki.

Loki with the helmet off.

I think it is a trade off between sculpting and PoA. Of course a company can totally blow a 5 PoA figure with a sculptor who shouldn't have quit his day job, but these came out really good.

CCC.

Some 5 POA sculpts can turn out looking pretty good or even great, as the recent Saga Legends Boba Fett and Stormtrooper demonstrated as did the Snowtrooper figure that saw retail circulation only in Canada. It all depends on the quality of the sculpt, which can be fantastic even if the articulation is the bare minimum and downright primitive. A figure can be little more than a paperweight or salt shaker but if the face looks great and the body and outfit are pretty close to the movie, TV or comic character's then it's a winner and worth getting.

Newest Clintasha/Shelf Avengers adventures! They found a mini squash in the garden and don't know what to make of it.

I can only imagine how creative their Halloween and other autumn adventures are going to be. If this keeps up Clint and Tasha will get (and rightfully so) their very own, official Toy Thread spinoff thread.

I found another Black Series Stormtrooper today, and picked it up. I told myself I would be content with one, but damn it, these things are like plastic crack.

I have yet to find even one of those, but hey - look what I did find at my local Target!

Not even one sighting of Wave 4 around here, but they stocked a figure from Wave 5. I probably sounded like a little kid when I walked into the aisle and spotted it hanging from the peg. :)

I found an old store display, and decorated it to display my mini American Girl dolls in.

Sorry, Shelf Avengers! It's not for you. :p

The minis didn't quite fit...I really had to squish them in.

My newly aquired TOS figure set by Art Asylum/Diamond Select Toys. Curious. I've been a Star Trek fan for seven years...why did I try collecting these now? :p

They really did a great job with those likenesses. The McCoy and Scotty look the closest to the original actors.

Agreed. AA/DST really outdid themselves with this series of figures. It's a shame they never released Rand and Nurse Chapel.

I just got the Kirk and Command chair set and I'm currently waiting on the AA/DST Enterprise model, then I plan on making little comic with these figures similar to Toy Fair theater.

Art Asylum is the company that released the Kirk/Khan and Spock/Horta two-packs with cardboard backdrops inside the packaging, right?

Some new acquisitions. Red Hood and the Outlaws by DC Collectibles. Arsenal has one of the coolest pieces of articulation I've ever seen a figure. His cap can be turned backwards!

OdoWan would probably be able to tell you specifics but they're DC Collectibles...so not very much :) The designer series line based on artist Greg Capullo's work is supposed to contain more than the regular lines. Same with the upcoming "Batman: The Animated Series" line...I think up to 37 points or something like that on Batman alone.

DC Collectibles has three levels of articulation. There's their old "practically statues" stuff with maybe 10points at the most. The Designer series and Forever Evil lines were super articulated with over 30 points a piece. Their standard these days for the regular New 52 line that these are a part of is in the middle at about 18 points. So they're not super articulated but there's enough to get some good poses.
