Thanks for all the feedback, guys, I really appreciate it!!! <3 I'm not 100% yet. I think I like him better as Booth. Older David is just more "believable" as a Star Trek officer, I suppose. Nah, he honestly hasn't changed that much since Buffy. He looks a bit older, but not too much. Hmmmm, is he single? ;-) I am, thank you :-) I have a chronic illness, so I unfortunately trend towards sickliness :-(
Anne Hathaway as an Orion Starfleet Officer. I'm sure that uniform is a SMIDGE altered from the standard...
I think this TNG-era minidress is brilliantly conceived. However, I agree with what others have said about the attachment of the right arm to the shoulder. I think it would look much more realistic and much better if the bulk of her arm and/or torso matched the unaltered image more closely. I get that you are going for a tighter fit; do you have another picture of Ms. Hathaway showing her shoulder area in a similar pose? One other comment is that I would suggest a different style of shoe. While a minidress might not be recommended for landing party duty in the 24th century, I would assume that the Starfleet Quartermaster would still have an eye not only on fashion but also function. She should be able to run and kick just as effectively as in regular dress. Thanks for sharing your work!
VOYAGER's Kes has a rediculously short lifespan, as do insects ... like butterflies, for example. Also, I've always seen Kes as modelled off of Celtic Faeries and therefore, she should've had butterfly wings on her. So, to that end, here they are - and it seems my instincts were correct. The wings could've folded down and into her shirt, or something like that, when she wasn't using them. It would've probably worked. And just to push it a little more into the mystical myth side of town, I wouldn't have minded it if she had sparkles around her, whenever she used her magic and powers of the mind and stuff like that. But I know I was never going to see that. Or the wings, for that matter, but not having her with them was probably a mistake ...
Before getting a name, the character of Kes was referred to during development as the Mayfly, due to the lifespan. That's what they started with.
Wow ... how ironic is that? This is the first I heard of it. Sounds like that story where David Lowery (sp.) who wrote STAR TREK V came up with the idea of Uhura's fan dance as a joke and The Shat and Harve decided they wanted to put it in. Some of these "ideas" should not make it past the Creative Discussion phase, and Kes' lifespan is a good case in point.
That is most kind, thank you. However one may view Kes, Jennifer Lien was a pretty pixie, in her day. Very feminine. Making the end result of this composite most easily achieved ...
Star Trek Into Darkness. TOS Style. Unidentified ship approaching Captain... You're not safe at warp...
