Zoom Session to talk "Discovery"

Thanks to all those that joined last night, it was a great 3.5 hour blast. We will be doing a Unification part 1 and 2 as our next discussion, which will tie in nicely to next weeks DISCO episode.

We probably need to look at maybe moving this out of the Discovery forum and investigate an alternative to Zoom due to the 40 minute limit.

So failing your work trial licence thingy, how much does zoom cost to take away the annoying restriction?

So it looks like it is £11.99 a month but I had a quick look and there are some alternatives we can use:

Google Hangouts (max 10 people unlimited time)
Webex up to 100 people without any time limit

Webex might be the best option as it works similar to Zoom, people will need to download the Webex client to their computer/smartphone/tablet.

Come join us tonight folks as we discuss episode 6 of Discovery Season 3 and Star Trek in general. Everyone is nice and friendly, even if you don't want to chat and just listen you are more then welcome.

Time:
4 PM PT / 7 PM EST / Midnight (00:00) GMT / 1 AM (01:00) AM CET / 4 AM (04:00) GST / 08:00 TST / 11 AM AST

I can set up a proper server for this get-together, if anybody is interested. Then it can be non-Discovery based?

How well does the desktop client work, can you share your desktop and stream video? I read about it yesterday and sounds like it can hammer your PC?

It’s always been fine for me, I can set one up and we can check it out to see if it’s suitable. I’ve been using it and running servers on it for years.

Cool lets check it out, I know the mobile client is really complicated so just need to keep things simple for everyone.

This edit that I said I was working on, I'm still working on. I won't be able to host tonight. I'll see you all next week!
