Zoom Session to talk "Discovery"

Come join us tonight folks as we discuss the the second episode of Discovery Season 3 and Star Trek in general.

Time:
4 PM PT / 7 PM EST / Midnight BST / 1 AM CET / 3 AM GST / 10 AM AST

P.S I know clocks are going back this evening in Europe so please double check the times if you are joining from BST and CET I don't think this affect the start time this week as that change normally happens at 2am but math definitely is not my strong point.

So just turn up at midnight for us Englanders?

I'm starting it at 7:00pm EST, I live in Boston. So whichever way that translates. You turned your clocks and we didn't over here. Hmmm. We don't set our clocks back until after the first week of November. So you're only four hours ahead of us.

@Captain Moe, I didn't even think about that. Giving you the head's up.

It's still midnight for us in the UK the clock will go back at 02:00. If my calculations are correct next week will be at 23:00/11pm.

Presidential Election? That could have gone horribly wrong fast. :)
It didn't. We were all on the same page. We want King Orange gone.

I broached the subject, but I waited until I'd properly gauged the temperature of the room before I brought anything up. But, even if not, I could've handled it just fine if someone disagreed with me. I did it once before, in 2016, when I was talking with a Trump Supporter. Link to the video. I managed it in such a way that WWIII didn't break out (believe it or not), even though I disagreed with them, and kept it civil.

There are two regulars in the Zoom Sessions who I disagree with about Section 31 (they're against it and I'm not) but, once again, we handle that just fine too.

You look so professional in your video @Lord Garth

It's a good bunch in the group, we normally have a politics session at the end of these chats, it's all in good fun nothing too serious And like I have said it's fine to have a different opinion if you can articulate why you dislike something beyond normal internet speak where everything is trash.

Thanks to everyone had a blast as per usual for the short time I was there before I had to go to dinner. Great to see some new people taking part and totally on the same page as @Captain Moe and @Muji , I look forward to our chats just as much as I look forward to a new episode of Trek, you guys rock and I am greatful to be able to get together with you all and have the awesome conversations that we have!!! Looking forward to next week's discussion!! :bolian:

I'm paying for the Zoom Service, so we might as well get some mileage out of it. We can have a second night a week for anyone who can't do Saturday nights. I'd love to talk about new episodes like the day after they air, or the day of.

Thanks to Covid, my Friday nights aren't exactly what they used to be. And on Thursdays, I'm all about Discovery.

Would anyone else would be up for that?

Yeah, I’d definitely be up for a second night. Personally, I’d be very grateful if we could make one of them just a little earlier for the European crew. Even if it’s just an hour or two.

Obviously the topic of one of the nights should remain about the current episode, but it might even be cool if the second night was a bit of a ‘book club’ format for a random good episode from around the canon of Trek. For example, I’m sure if we were told a week in advance that we should watch Measure of a Man from TNG and Author, Author from VOY so we could compare them on the night, that might be really fun.

I’d also suggest an option to thrown in a few bucks/quid toward your costs. I’d be happy to help out.
