Zoom Session to Talk about Star Trek

The Bridge for tonight's chat is now open

Edit:

Due to the passing of Nichelle Nichols we are moving the pilot rewatch back by a week and making this weeks episodes about Uhura.

TOS - 4x02 - Mirror Mirror
TAS - 1x04 - The Lorelei Signal

And if you have it available to view the recent Women in Motion documentary, in the UK this is available on Amazon Prime for free or on the new freevee service also for free.

Even though my time was like a few different Trek episodes (tech issues, duplicates, weird communication) i made it on. Really appreciate the opportunity.

Definitely would recommend to others to try it.

I hate to miss next week's session but I am helping with a community event so I can't make it.

Anyone available maybe just once to do a midweek during the day (for the US) zoom? We had several from England... maybe it could work for you after work as well?

I really, really, on the verge of clicking 'enter' attended the Meet today, but then I got too damned scared. I've developed a fear of socialising, as in just basically talking to people, during several extended lockdowns, but I've seen Encounter At Farpoint recently and...

Ah well. Maybe next week?

Well... you the option of NOT turning on your camera...as well as typing in the chat. Kinda simulate the message posting experience ;) I had to do that a couple of times...but in my case , texh issues necessitated it for me.

There is no pressure to talk, if you just want to listen that's fine. It's a pretty friendly group. The chat is very relaxed and some folks talk a lot others just chime in once in a while. Totally up to you.

I won't post links but you can find them all on YouTube.

Also Terry Matalas was on Robservations on Thursday night, it is 2 hours long but the first 30-45 minutes is well worth a listen.

There is a good website that can help facilitate a quizz where you all go to the site and pick a, b,c etc and it totals it up for you on the end.

What are we suggesting here? Are we all trying to come up with an answer together vs the game computer, or do we go around the Zoom each getting a question and tallying the points at the end? Either of those might work better than a fastest-buzzer Jeopardy! setup — although I’d clean all your chronometers any which way. For the Glory of the Klingon Empire.
