Technically episode 1 is both parts but it's labelled as episode 1 and 2, I will update the original post.
Thanks Moe, wasn’t quite sure. Looking forward to discussing these at the weekend.

Sorry to hear and my condolences to you and your family. We had a death in the family yesterday (expected for a while). Maybe I'll join again next week.
Broken Bow: Maybe because I like Archer and the crew a lot, I really enjoyed rewatching this.
It's a real shame you missed this one, there was some real dislike towards Enterprise coming through in the discussion even though everyone generally seemed to like this episode. A lot of the talk was about the Vulcan's and how they were depicted hence the Vulcan trilogy for next week.
It was Harry, wasn't it? I bet it was Harry![]()
The Cage: Well, I bloody like the Cage, and I love Pike, and I think it's generally one of the best episodes of early Trek (and you can't get much earlier than The Cage). I think I the ideas in this episode were incredibly strong and very interesting. I don't know the full story behind the switch to Kirk, but I think this episode was excellent. I love the scene when the doctor is talking to Pike and says that he treats everybody on the ship as if they're human except for himself. It's a shame I missed the call because I wonder how Emily feels about this episode, being such a big TOS fan. 55
Thanks very much for the reply. I look forward to next weekend.I missed last night also because there was a chance of bad weather in our area (which didn't pan out) and I was afraid my internet or my power would go off during the session. Anyway, I like "The Cage", even though Pike is rather stiffly played by Jeffrey Hunter. I had the half-monochrome/half-color VHS version way back when, so this episode's restoration has always fascinated me. I used to have a laser disc of the early all-color version, and the color in that version was rather splotchy, especially in the picnic scene. Of course, the current Blu-ray version is impeccable in its visual quality. It's also odd that some material that didn't make it to "The Menagerie" was cut for censorship reasons (I guess). For instance, Vina's comment "I have to wear something, don't I?" is cut out of "The Menagerie", as is much of the picnic scene (references to their children potentially inheriting Vina's "headaches", for example). The Vulcan arc is one of my favorites of ST:ENT, so hopefully I will get to participate in next week's discussion.

Though the least enthused, I didn’t think I was alone, I thought I put my thoughts in some context, and I did say that I thought we were at one point getting too negative and tried to turn the discussion toward the positives of the episode, sharing more some myself. Additionally, I suggested watching some Season 4 ENT as I hadn’t in a while and asked if we dare do the entire trilogy. I’ll take one decontamination gel rubdown by three Orion Slave Boys by way of apology. He may have had a thing or two to say, but I dare say he was alone.
