An apple a day keeps the doctor a way. If you buy them by the dozen, you can keep a whole bunch of doctors away.
Talk about roughage...

I wish I could de-borify you. Are you at home or in the hospital?

And how are you feeling, Tora? Hopefully you are on the mend and doing well. :)

Still in the hospital. Or rather a sub-acute rehabilitation facility, to be precise. I'll start a new thread when I get out of here.

Overall, I'm on the mend. The staff are all commenting on my improvement, both physical and emotional. The physical improvements are more clear.

Emotionally, I'm still kind of depressed and lethargic. Though even that's an improvement over the sobbing-half-of-every-day severe depression I was experiencing a couple weeks ago.

^ Aww. :(

Glad to hear you are on the mend, though. Any news on when you get to go home? Any improvement on the....er.... "plumbing" front?

Here's something that always makes me laugh---watching Tim Conway destroy the cast of the Carol Burnett Show, live, in the middle of a sketch.

The plumbing front, eh? Well, the bladder self-care is going well, meaning that I'm learning how to do it, not that it's, um, doing anything on it's own. :( So now I'm supposed to start the bowel self-care, which is going to be much harder emotionally, because it stirs up all my PTSD symptoms big time. And the same morning (today) that I'm having that difficult conversation with the nurse, the social worker is getting an e-mail from the effing insurance company that they want me to go home tomorrow! She's trying to talk them out of it, but, in the meantime, I'm hysterical.

ETA that I'm not going anywhere at least through the weekend, thank God. Going home isn't something to look forward to when you and all the medical staff agree that you are't ready!

Don't panic don't panic don't panic!!!!!

I hope they let you stay longer, but what are their plans for you help-wise when you need to go home?
Maybe you'd even relax better in a familiar environment?

^Deep breaths, my friend, deep breaths. I know it sucks beyond measure, but whatever happens, you can handle it.

You are capable, you are smart and you are loved.

Best of luck. :bolian:

I wish I could give you a hug, Tora. Please listen to your auntiehill -- she's so right, you will get through this. We're here for you.

Oops, I edited my previous post, because I hadn't noticed your new ones. Thank you for all the encouragement. I have at least a few more days, possibly a full week. Trying to come down from my PTSD whatever-you-want-to-call-it...

I want to call it Tora Ziyal beats her problems over the head, into the ground and stomps on them. :bolian:

You are so awesome you will do this, in your own way and your own time. :techman:

We are here for you all the way. :)

I'm glad they're letting you stay a while longer, Ziyal, but whatever happens you'll be able to deal with it. Especially with all the moral support and cute animals around here. :)

You've been so brave and strong so far, Ziyal - I know you can continue to overcome anything put in your path.

I'm not saying it's gonna be pretty or easy, but you'll manage it!

Mama cat makes such cute noises here...hope you like this. :)

One more. I love this little guy. Now, I must say that he is much luckier than a lot of kitties with his condition (he can walk fairly well, even run and pounce a bit :) ), but this cat, Tumbles, proves that one doesn't have to be physically perfect to enjoy life. Tumbles has cerebellar hypoplasia, but as you can see, he isn't letting that stop him from having some fun in the yard.

I hope you'll continue making progress in your recovery. But when it's hard, I hope you'll think of this little guy sniffing the flowers, pouncing, and loving on his owner. :)
