Nope, that's true. There are a few varieties of penguins found in more temperate climates in South Africa and Madagascar, in the Falklands (click) and in southern Argentina and Chile. Also in New Zealand, I think.

There's a colony of penguins in Melbourne, Australia. Every evening they come home and run up the beach, and people come to watch and squee at the cuteness.

I'm reading 59 Seconds by Richard Wiseman and he's talking about ways to reduce your blood pressure. Owning a dog helps, but if you can't do that apparently just watching videos of animals helps calm you down and reduce stress.

It doesn't have to be cold. They're just suited to the climate. They live on the southern beaches .

I wouldn't dream of having my cats visit. Both are rescues who required a lot of socialization when I first adopted them. So you can imagine how traumatized they were when I was attacked! Neither has yet recovered 100%.

A friend of mine did bring her puppy to visit -- that was fun!
