Zachary Quinto as Spock...

Where was the line about it being "15 years earlier?"

I don't remember it exactly (and I just watched it a couple days ago, hah! :D) but the context was that Kirk was reminiscing about his days as Gary Mitchell's instructor, and he mentioned it was 15 years ago, which would make Kirk about 21 at the time, so I figured he became an instructor as his first job after graduating and shortly thereafter started on missions (or maybe the missions were the instruction?)

Anyway, the news about Quinto is making me so happy I'm just about giddy. :D Trek is going to be great again!!!!!

Which means Kirk and Spock are going to be around 30ish. Quinto could play a little younger, but not 20. Sounds perfect to me.

Milo Ventimigliaa as Kirk, Greg Grunberg as Scotty, Jack Coleman as McCoy and Hayden Panettiere as a scantily-clad green alien. :)

That gives me an idea for a thread...or maybe I should just add it to the thread I already started in SF&F...

Isn't Spock supposed to be older than Kirk anyway?

Yep.

Spock: born 2230
Kirk: born 2233

But since Vulcans age more slowly than humans, it would be easy to rationalize a Spock who looks younger than Kirk...

I really, really hope that the Quinto report is true - he is my one and only choice to play the new Spock!

The deal is on apparently, Trekmovie.com is reporting that Quinto is pretty much, almost, the lawyers are laughing in their cell phones, Spocko!

Woo hoo! I guess, I never saw Heros.

But he looks fine for the part and the vids online I saw, also at trekmovie.com, showed he defiantly has acting chops! So hey, great news if you ask me. :)

I thought this was a great idea from the moment I heard the rumors (and saw the little photoshopped images of him "spockified".) I knew he could act, but he will so fit the part physically! I wonder if they will have him barking out his lines the way Spock did in the pilot? At least a little... for effect. ;)

Let's just say "Me happy!" :D

I see the Barking Spock phase along the same lines as the King Dork Haircut - elements that can be decanonized now that we have the chance. Quick, before anyone notices!
