Zach Braff Back on Scrubs

This show just won't die, maybe...

Zach Braff (J.D.) and Sarah Chalke (Elliot) have both signed to do 6 episodes of the next season of Scrubs if it does get picked up for a 9th season by ABC. If it doesn't, it doesn't, but if it does they will be back along side (possibly) Dr. Cox, The Janitor & Turk who all have contracts that say they have to come back for season 9 if their new pilots that they are working on don't get picked up.

I guess it would focus on the new interns with the "old timers" guiding them along the way. It also sounded like the character of intern Denise would become the main focus of the show.

I guess I'd give it a shot if it comes back, especially the eps with J.D. & Elliot in them. But if they do do another season they have to bring back Ted. Ted was the best.

It's kind of pathetic. If I were those three, I'd find some way out of the contract. It's a dead horse and it doesn't need beating.

They just pretend it never came back!

If one season ended wonderfully and then the show continued on another season or two, just ignore them.

Much as I love Scrubs, I think it should just end at this point. It had a nice little finale and anything after that would be really lame.

Whatever happened to the suck-up intern? She's the best choice to be lead because she's fairly undefined and has the most potential, especially if they stick to the daydream narratives.

No no no no no! Scrubs was one of the finest sitcoms to ever hit the air, and the finale was the perfect ending for the show. It was a finale. The character arcs are wrapped up, and these people have moved on with their lives. To continue this show is to do it a disservice.

It would ruin the last episode of this series. Not to mention the fact it's one of the rare shows on TV right now that get to go off the air with some dignity and not be cancelled.

Well, what they could do is just set it a few years in the future and then have flashbacks to the "Dorian days". That way, it doesn't have any bearing on the continuity... sort of like Star Trek. :p

I disagree that a new season would ruin the last episode of season 8. I'd be interested in seeing another season if they make one, if they don't then they don't.

Scrubs never did it for me. I just don't find hospitals funny in that zany way and that's before by dad died of cancer in one.
I don't care if the cancel it or not I won't watch it. I do think Zach Braff is a talent though and I will be interested to see what he dose next.

See, I've never cared much for Zach Braff or Sarah Chalke, so I've never really been able to get into the show on a serious level. I've always liked John C. McGinley and the addition of Christa Miller though, so that kept me watching on a once-in-a-while basis.

I didn't see the finale, but from what I've heard from fans it would probably be a good idea to let it go on what sounds like a pretty high note.

Besides, no film or TV show involving hospitals will ever be as funny as the George C. Scott film The Hospital.

The finale was perfect for the show and J.D (though wish for that episode ABC would not of done that bit after where they air the muckups)...

It makes the finale mean less just like one of RTD character finales only to bring them back 1 last time later...I wish shows would learn when to let go especially when they do it so right.

if ABC wants more scruns then fine call it a dam spinoff and call it Interns or Scrubs : Interns. Hell if they really want it to be a 9th season then theres no rule saying you can't modify the shows name and still not be a total spinoff reverting to season 1.

ABC change the name a bit or for god sake make it spinoff.

I couldn't agree more. This is the first time that I've ever been truly disappointed that a show I adore is coming back. It's really hard to improve on happily ever after.

If you change the name you don't get the rerun money. The whole point of this is so instead of Scrubs having 150 episodes it will have 175 to sell for reruns. Changing the name won't help that. Golden Girls has 7 seasons and then one season of the spinoff, but they never show that.

I made those numbers up.
