I started watching ENT years after it finished. I abandoned reading a Trek mailing list I was enjoying because it became harder and harder to avoid reading ENT spoilers (though they all hated ENT so it was easier than it might have been). However I just had to have a peek after a while, on this forum.. I wanted to talk about ENT as I watched it. But then.. my worst spoiler ever:

Malcolm Reed as an agent of Section 31. How much did I not want to know this?! Terrible spoiler of what would have been a great surprise. It was in a threads subject line so just by looking at the ENT forum I was spoiled. This still bothers me!

Another sad spoiler which I have since gotten over, lol is this one:

"Oh yeah, great movie, Darth Vader is really Luke's father!" Kill Kill Kill Kill

When the film "The Passion" came out I liked to use spoiler code in my posts to refer to the fact that:

Jesus dies in the end.
LOL me.

The Destruction of the Defiant.

We used to get DS9 about six months to a year after it screened in America, so I had already had many things spoiled for me such as the beginning of the Dominion War and Jadzia's death. I was at a friends house one day, and he showed me a picture from an imported magazine of Sisko and O'Brien looking at the Defiant bridge right before they evacuated. I immediately figured out what was going on. I wanted to kill him!

The Cylons revealed in Crossroads.

I didn't watch the show on TV as I only got into it recently by watching DVDs. One day I was reading something about the show on Wikipedia, and right at the bottom they showed the names of the Cylons. I tried to navigate away from the page but it was too late, I already saw Tyrol's name. :(

About a week later I was reading Jammer's review for the episode Scar, and I accidentally went down into the comments where somebody stated that Anders is a Cylon! :klingon:

So when I was watching Crossroads about a month later it wasn't hard for me to figure that Tigh and Tory were also Cylons considering the events during the early parts of the show. A huge reveal completely ruined. Damn you internets!

The night I was going to see The Search for Spock, about an hour or two before the flick, I was in a book store and I saw a Star Trek magazine with

Spock in Vulcan robes from the movie, proving that he comes back after all!

and that
Titanic sunk at the end.

The Destruction of the Defiant.

We used to get DS9 about six months to a year after it screened in America, so I had already had many things spoiled for me such as the beginning of the Dominion War and Jadzia's death. I had the exact same thing on a Trek list... though I was usually ahead of Sky showing it by buying the videos as soon as they hit the shelves. I was impatient.

The only other time I was majorly spoiled by Trek had to be a pre-Nemesis interview...
with Brent Spiner addressing the decision to kill off Data

Outside the Trek world... last year I taped a wrestling show, I don't even remember which one it was but as it's shown live it starts at 1am in the UK. A guy I worked with who stayed up for the event decided to return a prank I played on him the week before and put the results on post it notes in and around my desk.

Sometimes that company does it intentionally to get ratings. As they film their Friday night show on Tuesdays, the night of the taping they put a picture of a title change we wouldn't see until Friday.

For Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince...I was on deviantART, and somebody drew something that was a major spoiler, without putting a spoiler warning on it. I chewed them out because they'd spilled the fact that...

Dumbledore dies.

Starlog magazine revealed what V'Ger was before TMP came out. I haven't bought a Starlog since.

Hah, an all-spoiler-code thread. :rommie:

Most annoying Trek spoiler:

I saw "Inquisition" before "Doctor Bashir, I Presume" so I was spoiled on Bashir being genetically modified.

Most ironic non-spoilered spoiler:

I didn't read spoilers but the BBS I visited suddenly exploded with "Defiant OMG! SPOILER!" titled threads, so what dya think that might be about other than the Defiant getting blowed up real good?

Easiest to figure out spoiler, based on obviousness:

I'd heard "someone dies," so who could that be except Data, the one character they could easily resurrect. Then they went and introduced his replacement, B4 or whatever he was called, in the movie. How cynical can you get? Destroyed the emotional impact of Data's death entirely.

The two biggest spoilers I have had to deal with are:
I started on nuBSG Thanksgiving last year, so I was a little behind everyone else. I ended up finding about the final five Cylons before i even got to buy season 3. :(

Everything. I was young I was curious. And I found a site that gave a readers digest version of the script. I went into the theater knowing everything. From B4 (at that time, B9) to Shinzon being a clone to the thalaron weapon to Picard's kidnapping to Data's death. Almost everything that you wouldn't want to know before the movie, I did know. D'oh!
