so how do you decorate the lounge then?

go up to the wall with the empty shelves and click on the tab for which shelf you want to put the trophy on. FYI you can only put ships on the top shelfs and fleet action trophies, accolades, and trophies that you have bought on the floor.

Some of the accolades will go on the wall. I've got the klingon and borg ones up on the wall, bookended by my first and last ships...

Mason: "Guardian, show me the NASCAR race."

Guardian: "BEHOLD..."

Suddenly, Biff Tannen's sports almanac doesn't seem quite so impressive, does it? :rommie:

Anyhoo, here's a bit of déjà vu to get things rolling:

Yep - that's the Excelsior-class U.S.S. Robert April (NCC-92195), but now on Holodeck proper, not just from playing around on Tribble. I realised that at Lt. Commander grade 16, there was no way I'd be able to beat the Romulan ships in 'Cutting the Cord', so I grudgingly levelled-up and accepted promotion after nearly 9 months of holding off. Besides, I've kept the Lt. Cmdr. pips, since the official address for LCs is 'Commander', so no change there. Same for the upcoming Captain promotion - since all commanding officers are referred to as 'Captain', it'd not a massive problem.

Still refuse to level up past level 41 until Cryptic splits rank from level - I'd rather delete my characters than be forced to make them 'Admirals'...

(...and while we're at it, is there any way to NOT be a member of the FDC? I'm a Starfleet officer, dammit - shouldn't have to moonlight for another organisation on my spare time! )

Back to screenshots - here's some more from the last featured episode. First, a fantastic bit of Romulan cityscape:

Finally, Hakeev meets the end of some rough justice:

With Obisek and his followers - those Remans certainly put up one helluva fight:

The space environment this episode was stunning, too - here's Malor and the Victory making their approach:

And on an unrelated note, the U.S.S. Challenger re-creating that bit from the Voyager opening titles, simply because it's always cool to do! :bolian:

I had to promote Lex to Admiral to get the Argus, but it's fine because I can still set his title to Captain and leave him with the Captain pips.

Who needs to blow up planets to be emotionally compromising?

...ok, since when is Bryce Dallas Howard in STO? ;)

S'alright - beauty being in the eye of the beholder an' all, THIS is what gets ME all misty-eyed:

Sorry Jim, but "a ship is a ship" don't fly with me - this one's practically a work of art! :adore:

< Ahem! > ...anyway, I managed (purely by chance) to snap some decent shots of my respective crews in action. Certainly, they fit the definition of 'motley' rather well - 'infinite diversity in infinite combinations' and all that...

The crew of the U.S.S. Robert April - Mirra, Darin, Shepherd, Orlok (yes, a very transparent 'Nosferatu' reference! :rommie: ) and Six of Nine:

And the crew of the U.S.S. Victory (all crammed into a rather small turbolift) - Warner, T'Sia, Duayen, Malor and Vaarek:

screenshot_2011-03-08-21-29-03.jpg

It's only a shame that we can't assign proper roles to them - I'd love to give Darin the CMO job for real, or have Vaarek as actual helmsman, rather than just sitting at the console purely because that's where the game randomly puts him. The 'Duty Officer' system looks very cool, but IMO, it should be a lower-priority task than implementing true Bridge Officer functionality - at the moment, they're just a squad of 'commandos' with different special attacks, which isn't very 'Trek'.

How'd you even get them in the turbolift?

Simple answer:

Replay the re-mastered 'Stranded in Space' - you and your away team start in the Transporter Room (with a turbolift behind you), to beam over to the ship. Just run into the turbolift, and they'll all run in with you. :)

Tempted to run the mission with my other crew, just to get some decent group shots! ;)

...and my brand-new command - the Defiant-class U.S.S. Valiant (NCC-94210). Not the first to bear the name, and hopefully more prosperous than it's ill-fated namesake...

A view from the bridge - makes the DS9 fan in me all giddy with nostalgia! :bolian:

Particularly like the original-style carpet. Have to agree with Dr. Bashir - there's something about the purple version that doesn't do it for me... ;)

That's what the name above the character said. I wonder if Nixon will run into that Dr. Zoidberg I saw running around DS9 once.
