Your personal GOTY Award.

It's not the first time a EA published game has done this - EA published the PC version of Mass Effect. The PC controls for that don't really work either.
Care to be more specific? Because I thought the whole experience of playing ME on PC was just fine (except for a couple of bugs).

Some people don't have sarcasm detectors, apparently.

I'd accept your post as sarcasm if it weren't for my feeling that it reflects how some games companies now see the PC as a gaming platform.

The sad part is that there's a good game buried under the shovelware port we got.

It doesn't feel right playing it with the usual mouse and keyboard combo. I haven't been able to get very far in to it because it just doesn't feel right. I bought it, played it for a while and then put it down and haven't come back to it.

It's difficult to switch between tech abilities and biotics as the PC interface, which I understand has been changed from the Xbox 360 one, makes this awkward.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, the 360 interface for Mass Effect was pretty damn clunky, as well.

The sad truth is that with Dead Space I got up to chapter 4, then Red Alert 3 came out. Guitar Hero World Tour came out shortly after that and then that was it, I haven't been back to Dead Space.

Mass Effect is more of a disappointment given that I loved KoTOR so much I bought it on both the Xbox and the PC.

So far, I've got to go with Fable 2 and Force Unleashed.

Fable 2 not only looks amazing but it's a lot of fun the whole time. I never hit a deadspot playing it. Granted it's a bit short, but an amazing game nonetheless.

Force Unleashed, I don't know where to start, visually stunning with one of the better Star Wars stories told. I have a lot of fun with this game.

I still have to get to Fallout 3 and CoD5, I haven't played enough of Fallout 3 to judge, but from the little I've played, the game is amazing on every front.

I'm going to guess that the people nominating Dead Space aren't basing that nomination on the PC version.

Mine was the 360 version.

Not only am I picking as my GOTY because it was a great game, I'm picking it because of all the other media involvement.

From the start of the online comics, to the actual comics to an Animated movie then to the game.
The franchise set up a pretty good story.

Whenever I think of playing Mass Effect I always go right to spending 5 minutes deleting extraneous items picked up every half hour :p Great game otherwise though!

I think the only 2008 game I've played is GTA4 as I wait for the bargain bin, and I found the gameplay extremely frustrating while the graphics and radio/TV stuff were amazing.
