Your meal of the week!

Dinner at kitkats!

Seconded. kitkat, that sounds delicious.

Last night I made angel hair pasta with homemade meat sauce. In my meat sauce, Ill throw in a can or two of diced tomatoes, a can of crushed tomatoes, a can of tomato sauce, one of those cans of spaghetti sauce (easy way to start the spices), an extra tablespoon or two of fresh garlic, extra basil, extra oregano, a little thyme, some fennel, 2 or 3 bell peppersm and a healthy dose of burgundy in addition to a couple of secret ingredients to get the consitency right.

Bone-in, thick cut pork chops, MMMMMM.

I fry them on med/high heat in my cast iron with a couple of Tblsp. of veggie oil just for a few minutes each side. Then I put them in the oven for a few more minutes at 375 degrees to finish them off.

They are browned nicely and so juicy it is amazing. Just salt and pepper, too. The kids devour them, and it's always nice when they eat well.

Salad and green beans, whole wheat rolls...M&M's for dessert :)

My father is making it right now.

Some big juicy pork chops cooked under onions and garlic with some pork & beans on the side.

And my Mountain Dew to accent it as the beverage of course :D

I had a cheeseburger and fries from Five Guys last night. Truly food of the gods!

Today, I finished up my awesome pot roast- I made an open face hot roast beef sandwich. I just put a few slices of meat on bread and then covered them with gravy...gravy that had little bits of meat in it! I still don't know exactly what I did to make it so good. I just let the meat brown slowly in a pan for a long time, then caramelized some onions and garlic, then put it in the slow cooker for seven hours. I de-glazed the pan drippings with- I kid you not- a mix of Coca Cola and red wine. It made a nice gravy with the juice from the cooking roast!

Tomorrow, a nice, somewhat light Greek salad.

Tonight I made a wonderful chicken and veggie stir-fry (chicken, broccoli, carrots, purple cabbage, baby corn, onion, and red bell pepper) with homemade peanut sauce, with brown rice. I finally used my wok! It's really damned good (as it better be, it's dinner for the next 4 days or so).

Mmmm....I love stir fry! I'm going to have to buy the ingredients on grocery day methinks :)

I'm having a delivery veggie whole grain pizza tonight (waiting for it now...yum!)

I did the traditional on Sunday with my girlfriend and two friends - roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding and cauliflower with a white sauce. Oh and gravy. Mmmmmmm the gravy. The key to a really good gravy is marmite.

Nothing beats that, in my humble opinion.

We're going to make homemade chicken noodle soup tonight.
I love making soup -- so easy, so versatile, so delicious! Are you making the noodles from scratch? One of my earliest memories -- I must've been 3 or 4 -- was making homemade noodles with my grandmother for chicken soup. I loved eating the dough. :)

I'm tempted to make some of my beer & cheese soup over the next day or two...so COLD! <shudder>

Strangely enough, it was a sandwich for dinner. Turned out far better than I expected.

Brown pre-toasted brown bread, smeared with piccalilli, Dijon mustard, and mayonnaise. Topped with smoked turkey slices and emmental cheese. The combination turned up a rather unique sweet/sour/smokey flavour... made us go for second helpings. I recommend it highly. I believe the piccalilli is what makes it actually, without that, the vital flavour is lost!

The pear cobbler I made on Monday and the Brazilian chicken Strogonoff (cooked with a lot of Chablis) with Basmati rice that I had last night with Brazilian friends.

The Chicken Noddle was great and we reheated for dinner tonight too. Can probably get lunch and dinner tomorrow out of it.
