It's Labour Day (or Labor Day for our American friends) weekend here in Canada and the US this weekend. So why not take the opportunity to celebrate labour in our avatar contest?

Your entry for this week's contest should represent any profession that is/can be represented by a labour union, at least somewhere in the world.

Standard avatar contest rules apply: images must be no more than 200 x 200 pixels and 1 MB, and they must be SFW. In general, no media images are allowed, but images from news programs or documentaries are OK. Each entrant may enter up to three avatars. The contest will be open for about a week. Please identify the profession represented by your avatar, even if you think it's obvious. Each profession should be entered only once. If you think there may be a question about whether the profession is represented by a labour union, feel free to include a link to the union that represents them.

And if you'd like, head over to the TV & Media forum to participate in the Labour in Fiction contest.

Have fun! :techman:

Okay, this may be disqualified, as this entry does not show a person at their job, but a specific person that I'd like to enter for personal reasons:

#1
Hw6k3cg.jpeg

Monika Stein, teacher and chair of the Gewerkschaft Erziehung & Wissenschaft (Labour Union Education & Sciences) of the German federal state of Baden-Württemberg.
She happens to be my cousin, and I'm quite proud of her, and I'd really appreciate it if this entry would not be disqualified.

The rest of my entries will be more conventional:

#2
8pQ74Zn.jpeg

Store clerk (represented in Germany by Ver.di (short for Vereinte Dienstleistungsgewerkschaft - United Labour Union of Service Providers)

#3
dr41hlm.jpeg

Engine driver (represented in Germany by competing unions Gewerkschaft Deutscher Lokführer - Union of German Engine Drivers - and the Eisenbahn- und Verkehrsgewerkschaft - Train and Traffic Union)

I have no problem with this entry.
