I ate in this evening and avoided going out over lunch. But dammit, it took some willpower. Don't know what's going on with me recently... but at least I've saved a few pennies!

An iRobot Roomba Model 562 -- a robot vacuum cleaner. :-) Just arrived a couple days ago, so I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
Just your basic BS with credit-cards. Not going to name names, but a certain bank that took tarp funds rammed me up the ass on credit cards rate and fee increases last few months, I refused the increase-- which is allowed by my contract-- and told them to close the account and lock my payments in at "X" amount. Well they liked that deal up till recently, now I've got this one "case worker" that has went from being a barely English speaking woman from a call center to a very fluent in English curse words and legalese (and yes it's the same woman) pain in the ass who doesn't like it when I point out that she's violating collection laws as that she's going to end up reported to the Atty-Gen of the state.
Family lawyer said to use a microcassette (dinosaur tech, ewww) to record her; due to the fact that a digital recorder has to pass through to many intermediary systems to be transfered into something to use in court if we go that route: Digicorder -> Computer -> MP3/WAV -> CD/Flash drive. Which opens up the defense for them that the recording was digitally altered at some point. Versus a tape which you can just pop out, hand a judge and play it;, plus would more readily show any signs of editing which would mean they would even dick with using it as a defense.
So now I not only have to record the call (thankfully for once TN got it right; we're a "single party" state, meaning anyone can record a phone call for any reason without informing the other person-- and yes, I double checked with the Atty-Gen on this), I have to keep a call log and log Who and When onto one of those "while you were out" things to go with the tape and keep a more detailed accounting.
A HUGE chocolate cake for my hubby's birthday. It was about $23.

I think HEB is just aggressively going after the health and beauty aids market. They've been marketing themselves as cheaper than Walgreens for weeks, and now they're out stocking Target.
I splashed out on a nice looking new shampoo the other day - Charles Worthington "moisture-seal". Well, the funky-shaped bottle looked nice & bright, anyway. We'll see whether it delivers on the packaging promises...
