I got myself a new bicycle today. It's a slightly upgraded version of the Focus Blue Ridge trekking bike with Shimano Deore all-round. I also got a pretty cool Scott helmet which was bloody expensive at 100€ (the bike itself was 500€).

Please tell me you got the Director's Cut.

Just got that version myself the other day. - Asda had it for four quid so I thought I'd give it a try:)
I felt it was better than the cinema version.

I got this version of it.
:) Good to hear you didn't get the butchered version. ;)

And yeah, I absolutely adore the Director's Cut of KoH. It's actually one of my favourite films ever.

Got my car back from the garage after they changed a v-belt tensioner or something that sounded like that. The car was just going in for a brake fluid service but I'd noticed a whining sound so got them to find the cause and they did. Labour costs are ridiculous - a "latest purchase" I'd prefer not to have made.

Still, it's nice to get my own car back after two days in a courtesy car. They gave me a nice enough loan car (a 2L TDI A6 Avant), but man, compared to my own car the bodyroll around corners and lack of real power actually made it feel a bit scary to drive; like I wasn't in full control.

What else did I buy... well, I had another long lunch in the sunshine, and tried a Golden Daiquiri for the first time. Quite nice!

Well, at £3.98 for a 4-disc definitive edition/director's cut, I couldn't resist! I'm looking forward to watching the extras on it.

Yeah, I can definitely understand that going from an S4 to a 2.0TDI A6 is quite a shock. ;) It's kinda like me going from my Eos to one of our company 1.9TDI 90HP Golfs. ;)

It made me realise most cars on the road are actually quite dangerous to drive at normal speeds. I mean, you have no power to get you out of unexpected trouble & they will wallow scarily on normal turns, let alone if you need to turn sharply to avoid trouble. The A6's brakes were actually fine, but apart from that, the whole package just felt incomplete and "risky". To think that most people feel confident enough in these cars to speed around the place is troubling. At least in a car built for speed and poise, you have more control, both at slow and higher speeds.

Went out clothes shopping tonight for two new dress pants for work (light and dark grey) and some Old Navy t's and a white polo wth a jaquard print across the chest, and new faded wash jeans :techman:

Yay for Spring clothes shopping! More tomorrow :)

^ Actually I believe there is also a variant where when you order your meal, you have to stand up and wave your arms around in a stupid dance while Mexican hip-hop plays. I don't think I have to say what it's called. :p

Drinks and appetizers at happy hour last night.
Lunch out with co-workers today.
Egyptian food after a walk with my "little sister" tonight.

There's a definite pattern going on here...
