I have no idea how to connect laptops to a TV... I seem to have bought the appropriate wiring, but I can only get the wallpaper to appear on the TV, but no film. And that's without the HDMI to complicate things.

I had a similar problem at first when I told the computer to "extend my desktop" to the digital TV. There was my desktop wallpaper, but no icons, no mouse or anything else.

Turns out it wasn't "extend my desktop" I wanted but instead "clone display". Once I'd done that it began to work just fine. I rather like that both video and audio are fed down the HDMI cable which means I'll be able to playback 5.1 digital soundtracks instead of just outputting stereo audio through the headphone jack.

Today I received a book I ordered a few days ago. It is Arctic Chill by Arnaldur Indridason.

Its blurb says

Heh...I'm not a duck collector but I ALMOST picked up the Rocky Horror series they issued a few years back.

I almost got a traditional carbon steel wok, but wimped out at the last minute and got nonstick. Very unauthentic, I know.

That might make stir-fry difficult..."Teflon flu" and all that.

I recently bought a $6.95 carbon steel wok. After loads of seasoning and cooking with it, it's finally developing this nifty black-brown coating that should make food taste yummy.

Recently, I bought some groceries, a copy of Duffy's "Rockferry" album, and a V-day card.

Target had "Follow That Bird" for only $4.75, I almost bought it. I bought Viewtiful Joe 2, Mega Man collection, and Streets of LA used for the Gamecube from Gamestop.
