I had a similar problem at first when I told the computer to "extend my desktop" to the digital TV. There was my desktop wallpaper, but no icons, no mouse or anything else.I have no idea how to connect laptops to a TV... I seem to have bought the appropriate wiring, but I can only get the wallpaper to appear on the TV, but no film. And that's without the HDMI to complicate things.![]()
Turns out it wasn't "extend my desktop" I wanted but instead "clone display". Once I'd done that it began to work just fine. I rather like that both video and audio are fed down the HDMI cable which means I'll be able to playback 5.1 digital soundtracks instead of just outputting stereo audio through the headphone jack.
