This just came in today:

I took her for a five mile spin (the bike, not the Audi).

^ pic's not showing up for me.

I bought shirts. :)

Well, more accurately I ordered 4 shirts. First one to be delivered is a nice pale lavender basketweave and should be here in about 4-6 weeks time. Once my shirt pattern's refined, the other 3 will get made up. I've queued up a few basics - white, pink and blue. Can't wait! This is my first foray into bespoke shirts, having intended to take the leap for ages, so I'm very excited.

I bought a pair of jeans when I realized I didn't own any. Nothing thrilling, just a pair of Calvin Klein, dark wash, boot cut, mid-rise jeans. It was a little depressing because they're an eight, but they're loose and super comfy.

I also bought a game called Bananagrams for my roommate's birthday (everyone else bought him wine, because we had a wine party, but I saw the stock he'd piled up in the past few weeks, and figured I didn't need to be the one to make 42 bottles into 43...).

And I bought Hamlet, the Kenneth Branaugh version.

I figure I better at least try to keep it watered regularly, hence the tray to stop water splashing all over the windowsill. I even went and got thyme and flat leaf parsley pots to add to my little herb garden too... they look quite pretty on the sill, but I hope they survive - I'm not hugely green-fingered! :)

Good luck with that! I once had a basil plant my mom started from seed for me and it lived several years. After that my herb luck when out the window! When I'm inspired I try to grow basil, rosemary and cilantro. Maybe next time...

My latest purchase is a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress with a black/white pattern.

^Ooooh! Which one? I really liked the use of black and white in the last collection, and I loved all the Bohemian influence. Much of it went a bit too far over the line into hippie territory for me, though.

It's called "Justin" and the color is "Island Leaves Black".

^It's very pretty. I love the look of wrap dresses, but find them dreadfully impractical as they always blow open. I have a great wrap dress, an absolutely gorgeous black, grey, red, and purple geometric pattern, but I rarely wear it because I have to pin it everywhere! I really want a nice, black, mid-calf skirt slip to go underneath, so that when the wind picks up it won't be noticeable, but functional slips are so hard to come by these days.

Very nice!

Like everyone else who pays taxes, I've bought front row tickets to watch the unfolding financial apocalypse. Great seats, but I hear you get splashed during the show. :(

First recession? ;)

The one thing my high school economics teacher said that stuck with me is that economies are naturally cyclical. We just need to ride out the upcoming downturn and carry an umbrella.

Hey! I'm tag-worthy! :D

That really made my day.

On topic, today I got the delivery I've been expecting, this precious item here:

I've ordered a couple of books from Amazon (the last one in the Military Left Behind series and a new "Phanton" book) plus a couple of Sarah Brightman DVDs - La Luna and Live in Las Vegas. I also orderered some hay for my little girl (guinea pig). It's bluegrass, also knows as 'Guinea pig crack'. I've read they really go wild over the bluegrass. I should get my order early next week. Tulip really enjoys her hay - Timothy, orchard grass, botanical hay. Plus I have some what I'm calling "Evacuation cages" for my critters on order. If they need to go somewhere for a while, they will have a decent, portable cage. The boys, Michael and Erik (gerbils), are in aquariums with tank toppers and Tulip (guinea pig) is in a C&C cage I built. Those aren't very portable so I figured I'd best get something I could take with me in case of a prolonged power outage or whatever.
