Stocked up on champagne.

For the UK readers - pop donw to Tesco's soon!

2000 vintage Chanoine champers is at half price - about £18 a bottle. Rich, layered, yeasty and a good length. Very slightly bitter mid-palate, but you can't expect perfection all the time. Bargain at the price, stock up with a few bottles! I also bought a bottle of NV Piper-Heidsieck. God knows why; I don't really like it all that much. Must be that seductive red label.

I just purchased a new PC. For the first time in over 12 years, I didn't build this one, because the parts would have cost more than the whole system. It is a Gateway GT5618E:

Athlon 64 X2 4400+ Processor (2.3 Ghz)
2 GB of DDR2 667 RAM
320 GB Western Digital SATA II Hard Drive
GeForce 6150LE Onboard GFX
18X SuperMultiDrive DVD Burner
15 in 1 Multicard Media Reader
HD Audio Outputs, 7.1 Surround Outputs
PCI-e 16x Slot (where I'll put my nVidia 7300LE video card)
Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers
Vista Home Premium

All for $299. :D
Now I'm impatient and expect it right now, even though Wednesday is more likely. :D

^ I think I'll start the envy thing now and avoid the rush. ;)

Today my dog and I went to the pet store to exchange his collar for a harness - small dogs and leash pulling = chronic cough. :(

I also got some "bitter" spray to for all the stuff in the house I don't want chewed to shreds. (Let's see if my bedroom slippers taste good NOW!) And just because I wuv him we also got a bag of treats.

On the way from the pet store to the drugstore (dentil floss) I found a large Monet print umbrella and a soup tureen.

A friend of mine lost a pair of shoes to her new puppy the other day in much the same way... what spray is this that stops it happening?

It's called "bitter apple" - so far it's kept him from chewing his harness off but it looks like I have a lot more spraying to do: all the electrical cords, the furniture legs, etc.

My world is now bitter apple...

Don't get crabby. ;)

Thank you! I presume the spray is unscented (to humans, anyway)?

new swag arrived the other day!

edit: before anybody goes metaphysics bashing, i'm just trying to be open minded about it all... what you don't see is the holographic universe book and brian greene's elegant universe book in my collection as well ^_^

Oh, and I know the chronic cough thing. Dallie (our 13 year old black lab mix) loves to pull against the leash. It caused her to start having a bit of breathing trouble. I bought one of those extended leashes that rolls out and back in automatically, and it's helped. She's still precocious and playful at 13. :D

cyph, nice swag! And that Mysticism and the New Physics book looks interesting.

I bought the special edition first season of 24 for $16.99 at Best Buy. They're selling every season for $16.99, but the special edition of season one has a $15 off seasons 2-6 coupon on it (for up to a $75 savings), so I got seasons 2-6 for $1.99 a piece.

Victoria's Secret had a sale, so a couple of bras and 3 panties. Always fun!

Wait for it.... wait for it....
I was going to... but I decided not to. ;)

That is a damn good deal. :D

- A 19" widescreen LCD monitor to replace mine which is starting to show lines across the screen.

- Galapagos by Kurt Vonnegut, I'm looking forward to this one especially.

- Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Movie and Airplane! on DVD.

- Bottle of Amaretto liquer, for Amaretto Sour.

- Pair of dark brown pinstripe pants for an absolute steal. Also a green tie with some golden lines/trim to it and a red tie with the same, but a little more. The red especially would probably go well with a tan shirt, so I'll have to acquire that soon. More and more I'm floating away from black (my default color for most things), which is sort of fun!

- Some jeans.

- $100 in groceries.
