Friday:
Gasoline
Groceries for the week
A new CD player to take to work. My old one is going bad so I finally gave in and bought a new Sony one. I just have to listen to Michael Crawford at work or I get out of sorts!
A universal adapter for above CD player so I can use it in the electrical outlet. However, this new adapter doesn't fit the CD player but I think it will work with my camera. Anyway, I have an adapter that fits so I'm in business come Monday. Four new CDs are ready to roll. Two Julian Lloyd Weber CDs and two instrumental CDs by Mehdi. I have no idea who they are or what they sound like. I came across them while looking at some Mannheim Steamroller CDs and thought I'd try them out.

I'll join the fun..

I recently pulled the Nintendo 64 out of storage. Damn does that system still kick ass. Next thing I was on Ebay trying to find some games. I paid for them today but they won't be here for a week or so.

Finally picked up my new cloche! Custom made (hence the two week wait), periwinkle blue, utterly fabulous:

My favorite bit is the darling black leather buckle in the back:

That's not how I expected it to look! Almost has a Prussian vibe to it.

Very unique.

^Thank you! I am vry happy with it. Holdfast, I must admit that, unfortunately, I do not know much about Prussian influences on fashion.

I am thoroughly excited, though, because I was chatting yesterday with a coworker (we had a teacher's workshop), and it turns out his mother is a very talented milliner. What's more, her passion is taking on challenging custom orders. He gave her my email address, and she contacted me straight away. She is going to make the hat from Paper Moon! The hat I have wanted since I was nine years old, and that gave me my everlasting passion for hats in general, and cloches specifically!
It is going to be quite a challenge, since all she has to go on are screencaps. She is going to watch the movie, to get a 3D feel. Unfortunately, the movie is in black and white and I haven't yet found any color photos of the hat.

She's going to Germany next week and said she'd try to find some similar lace or tatting (it looks like it might be velvet). So maybe this hat will turn out to have a Prussian influence as well! :)

I went on Amazon last night and bought a few things.....

Lost season 3 - (I'm overdue, I know)
The Ark of Truth - (yay more SG1!)
Clive Barker's Undying (Mac) - (I pick up a few old games I haven't played which sound interesting now and then. This was cheap.)
Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 (Mac) - (Same. Apparently this is the "UK version", but I couldn't find any information on what that means.)
Medal of Honor Allied Assault War Chest (Mac) - (Although the review which says these won't work on Intel machines limits their probable lifetime, at $30 for the whole chest I figured it was worth it.)

I recently bought parts to restore the below Parker Vacumatic, originally belonging to my grandfather. It had spent the last few decades buried in a drawer.

I have bought a used vehicle! :) It's a 2001 GMC Jimmy with leather interior..very nice. I'm fixing to pick it up in a few hours. :)

books purchased today:

Star Trek Titan - Taking Wing, and The Red King
Enterprise - Last Full Measure
Tales From the Captians Table Anthology
Crucible:Provenance of Shadows

Purchasing Voyages of the Imagination last week has directly led to this, and I'm afraid, many more purchases of Star Trek fiction in the future

My latest purchase--a black filing cabinet from Target. Now all our bills are filed away in alphabetical order.

God, my life is dull.

I just upgraded my PC. Components I bought:

Intel E8400 Core 2 Duo 3.0 ghz CPU
Gigabyte P35 DS3P Motherboard
4gb RAM
8600GTS 256MB Graphics card
Corsair XH620 PSU
Windows Vista Home Premium Licence.

It rocks :)
