I just bought some chocolate covered strawberries for a special Valentine's Day dinner I'm making for hubby.

I just spent $173 at Victoria's Secret. I went in to buy only a few new bras and panties -- I've gone from a 34C to a 34B (I haven't yet decided if this is good or bad) -- But while waiting in the dressing room three different young ladies were trying on the same lovely piece of lacy lingerie. It just looked beautiful on everyone, so I tried it too! Soon they had 4 young ladies from extra small to large comparing our figures in the loveliest intimate garment. None of us knew another, but we were just like friends; it was terribly fun!

And I got the last small in the store!

Is it a matter of weight loss, surgery reduction or just getting resized? You always hear now, about how many women are apparently wearing the wrong bra size.

At least you didn't know each other. I was once shopping with a friend and we ended up in the nightwear section of Neiman Marcus. She tried on this black shortie nightie and I was like "Oh no you don't - I already have that one!"

She got it anyway. Normally that's not a problem except that a) She tells her husband everything and b) her husband loves to pick on me. I guess I shouldn't have said anything!

In the last week:
Samsung Syncmaster 226 BW. A 22" widescreen LCD that is replacing my 8-year-old 19" CRT. But I still have a 19" LCD, I can't live without a dual monitor setup these days. It makes life so much easier, especially when writing lab reports and things like that (e.g. graphing software on one monitor, spreadsheet on another).
Windows XP Professional (got tired of WGA bugging me)
Core 2 Duo E6750
MSI P6N SLI
PowerColor X1950 Pro
2 GB Corsair RAM

I thought it was about time to update things. My old computer was from 2002, a 1800 Athlon and a Geforce 5200 with 512 mb RAM.

This whole negative savings rate thing is not so bad actually. ;) :p

Friday:

Gasoline
Groceries
A nest box for Erik - gerbil (that varmit has grown and needed a larger one)! He's been hitting the food bowl pretty good this week.
Gerbil food
Raisins for me and gerbs. I'm going to try to get Michael fattened up a little. Of course, the boys still have some growing to do. I've heard they grow until about one year of age. I just hope Michael catches up with Erik. However, I have a feeling Michael is going to be the smaller of the two brothers. He seems more active and looks like he has a slighter build.

While I am in full support of breast reduction surgery for those women who need it, I think anyone would find reduction of a c cup to be comically unnecessary. I just lost a few pounds.

I was shopping with my friend and I tried on a red shirt. She loved it in the fitting room but became really anxious when asking me if she could try it on too. Like she needed permission! I thought it was terribly silly, and couldn't care less if she bought the same shirt as me.

But, after reading about your circumstances, I think you've every right to be mildly indignant! ;)

Oh, and today I bought a hat. A $150 hand-made periwinkle blue cloche for spring! I absolutely love it. But I've been a bit frivolous with my spending.

The Best Of The Art Of Noise on CD

(right now I'm actually *grooving* to a song sung by Tom Jones. How pathetic is THAT? :wtf:  )

Cloches are cute. I wish it was a style I could pull off - I look better in the wide, floppy brims for some reason.

^Oh, I love all hats, but cloches are my favorite. I also think you could pull off the look if you had the right hat. The most important thing is size. Do you frequent millineries? I think that not many people these days realize that hat size is like shoes size or dress size -- you might be a 6 or an 8, etc. If you get a cloche that is the just right size it will make all the difference. If you're finding that cloches are too large you can curl your hair in tight curls. I have a large-ish head and round face, so I keep my hair straight beneath my hats.
The great thing about cloches, too, is how versatile they can be. They can come in just about any color without appearing too flashy or outrageous as other brightly colored styles tend to do, so you can get a shade that really complements your eyes and hair.

I spent another hundred at Victoria's Secret today. Walking around town the past three days in a bra that fit really made an amazing difference. As some one said upthread, most women are not wearing a bra that fits -- go get measured! It feels amazing! So I bought two more (one strapless), and I got some rockin' fishnets with a seam up the back.

^ I don't wear hats that often - not because I don't like them but I guess it's just something I never got into the way I got into shoes & cashmere. :D

As for bras I try to get measured regularly and I agree it's worth it. I prefer Chantelle bras over Victoria Secret though.

^I've never tried them. Is there a chain store? Do you find the fit more comfortable or is it the styles?

I am very into undergarments right now. :D

I've found them at Macy's, Nordstrom's and Neiman Marcus. You can get measured and shop at the same time. :)

Oh, for my latest purchases (as long as I'm here) I met some friends for breakfast and had a yummy omelet with spinach, mushrooms and goat cheese along with some hash browns and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Oh, and coffee of course. Yum. :)

classy

I bought 30' of 1/2" PVC tubing and some fixtures to make a tent frame for my daughter's room. She's sleeping under it tonight

A carton of cigarettes, a half a tank of gas and about sixty dollars worth of groceries. When I think about it, I don't purchase things any more; I just rent them. :(
