Some new caps(Cowboys, Broncos, and a Rangers Batting practice cap) plus a rack for some of them.

I just realized, I'm the Holdfast of Baseball caps.

Makes you feel good, right. :p

I've been shopping a lot lately. Both in town and on ebay. Actually I've been on a complete ebay frenzy lately. It has to stop. I'm begining to feel guilty.

Basically I've bought
- pink boots
- this dress or whatever it is - need the pattern to match something
- brown dress
- teal-ish dress. Need it to fulfil my teal wardrobe.
- green&brown dress
- plum ankle boots - I need burgundy/plum winter shoes/boots. I've found absolutely no nice boots in that colour so I've gone with the ankle boots from ebay, for the time being. I don't like ankle boots too much, but I guess they'll work under trousers.
- teal trainers - I needed teal boots but I can't find any. It's getting colder and colder and I can't wear my summer teal shoes anymore. And I have a teal bag. And a teal hat. And a teal scarf. Argh. Need more teal. I found these trainers, they were cheap, so I bought. They will be replacing teal boots until I find some.
- Green boots - no idea why I bought these. Well, ok they were cheap. If they're comfortable I may go back and get them in beige too. Just cos they're cheap.
- finally! a silver bag with an appropriate texture - to match my silver shoes. I've been looking for this for ages. Cracked leather effect silver bag. Round. I only use round bags. Only and only round. Finally! Thank you Miss Selfridge.

I also bought but I haven't bothered photographing
- a brown tunic
- a long olive green jumper with a cool wide neck thing
- brown silk scarf
- black silk scarf
- green silk scarf
- a teal pashmina scarf
- a burgundy pashmina scarf
- teal french hat

the best thing about the pashmina scarves was that I was tempted to order these exact same scarves off ebay UK. And then I found them in Zagreb for half the price. Same ones. Haaaa. The world is a village.

Other than clothes I got two rare Metronomy promo CDs off ebay.

I think this is where my shopping should stop, for a while. :wtf:

One should never feel guilt about clothes and shoes!

I love this dress - very nice! My eBay nerdiness also notes that the seller uses the same display mannequin that I do on my sales. This one might also be fab; totally depends on the exact colours in person and how you wear it. These are a very unusual mix of styles - jodpuhr-style ankle boot hybridised with a court shoe. Not sure what to make of that! :p

I'm glad you found the burgundy scarf you wanted - I saw a stunning burgundy Ralph Lauren Purple Label cashmere one for about £65 (discounted from about double that) a day or two after you mentioned you were looking for one. RLPL cashmere is truly wonderful quality. I was very taken by a similar one in winter white.

Have fun wearing it all! I know I would.

Well, not the dresses and the women's shoes.

Oh, stop sniggering at the back!

Yeah I was kind of intrigued by it cos it's such a strong pattern, and it seems to have the colours I wear. How I will wear it depends, I'm not exactly sure what the fabric is like. We'll see. It might go well with dark tights and boots that have one of those colours. I think it has some burgundy in it. If I ever find nice burgundy boots, it might work. If not I'll just wear it as one of those in-your-face tunics over jeans, and bla.

Yeah I don't like the top part of those boots. It's oddly wide. But I intend to wear them under jeans/trousers, so only the toes will show. It's really just the colour and the shape of the toes that matters. And flat sole, so I can walk everywhere in them. I only bought them so I can wear them with my nice burgundy Gap bag.

God I'm such a sucker for colour matching, it hurts.

Haha. Man. You're like

here <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< and I'm like >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> here.

I paid £5 for my scarves, thank you very much.

I'd NEVER pay £65 for a scarf. Never.

Unless I won the lottery and lost my mind or something. :p

But it's the good kind of pain. :)

Matching is cool, but complementing is even more fun.

Well I would have bought it for you but since you don't want it... :p

£5 for a scarf is pretty unlikely to be pashmina cashmere though. Not impossible because some sales are great... but unlikely esp. if not marked up as deep discount. Most likely some form of acrylic/wool blend. Try burning a few loose strands - acrylic melts, wool and cashmere will burn.

A brush and comb for my cats, a toy for my friend's new kitten, a flannel shirt (it's that time of year), a frame for my new Connor Trinneer picture, a notebook, 2 kitchen towels, new driving gloves for winter......well, I guess that's about it. Fun to be on vacation! :D

I have rules. I always wear one stronger colour, and one dim colour. Like, brown and green. Or black and red. Or grey and pink. Etc. And then I'm careful that two items of the same colour don't touch. So for example, if my top is pink, I'll wear a grey bag with it. Or, I'll wear a grey jacket on top of it and a pink bag over the grey jacket. Grey trousers and pink shoes. You get the concept. ;)

Of course it's not real cashmere, for £5?? Who'd expect it to be! One is viscose, the other silk. They just call them "pashmina" fuck knows why. Maybe "Pashmina" as in, some kinda brand name, rather than cashmere type. I guess.
You would have bought...pfffft. If someone bought me a £65 scarf I probably wouldn't dare wear it out of fear to tear it or something.

I have rules

Oh, I have ways of making you break them... :)

I phrased it gently so as not to hurt your oh-so-delicate feelings in case you thought it was cashmere. :p

Well, maybe not bought you... but offered at a little below cost wouldn't have been out of the question! :p

a nice steak dinner at a local steakhouse, on the company dime since I am travelling today. :D

the place must get a lot of business travellers, the waitress asked if I wanted her to separate the beer I had from the meal. first time I've ever had anybody ask that

but there was no need to.

I bought some movies for Halloween today, since I haven't spent any money on myself since August at this point.

I bought: "The Fearless Vampire Killers" (which I am watching now), "Wolfman" (1941, Lon Chaney), "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" and the two Hellboy animated features. All for $50. I am pleased!

This week...

- Transformers on DVD

- Wicked, the novel. (Really want to see the musical)

- Two tickets for Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis on Saturday, May 10th. Not cheap, I'll tell you what. Should make up for not being able to see Sir Ian McKellan at the RSC's production of King Lear at the Guthrie a week ago. Stupid season ticket-holding scalpers...

- Jelly Babies! :D I'd never had them before but, obviously being a Doctor Who fan, have always wanted to try them. Good stuff!
