Your Latest Gas And Electric Bill

Last quarter my Gas was £87.79 and my Electric was £94.74. My new set of bills are due in the next week or two and I ran a calculation to todays date to see how much I'm going to owe so far for my Gas/Electric and I've worked out up to todays date (so not including another week or two I will have to pay on top) I owe £268 for my Gas and £146 for my Electric.

It's absolutely outrageous. I know I've used more gas this time around with it being winter but it's totally mind boggling how quickly it can all add up.

I've just got up and turned the heating off and told the Wife that it's not going back on again and to put some extra layers of clothing on. It gets ice cold in this house and we'll probably freeze without the central heating but there's really no other option.

I'm completely skint this month, I just spent £320 to fix my car and get it a new MOT certificate.

Anyone elses Gas/Electric at an outrageously high price this time around?

Our gas bill was the same. Our electric bill was insanely high, more than double it's normal rate. We didn't use any more electricity than normal, but we did have a new water heater put in, and apparently it uses tons more energy than the previous model. This is bad.

I have absolutely no idea what my power and gas bill is, because I had the good fortune to rent a room at a flat rate, all utilities included.

I never rent an apartment unless that's all included.
I couldn't deal with all that gouging. :( Sorry to hear about it.

You're in the N.Hemisphere, right? It'll be spring soon enough.

Mine electric/water was about $27.00 combined. We don't use natural gas.

I don't have gas, my house is all electical.

My bill last quarter was $AUD356, which is about $US316 or 202 British Pounds.

My winter bill for last year was $AUD497 ($US442, 282 British Pounds).

My summer bill last year was $AUD231 ($US205, 131 British pounds).

There are 3 people living in my house and there is nearly always someone home so the heater is on most of the time in the winter.

Last month was around $250. Thank God for the fireplace, otherwise it could have been a lot higher.

Coincidentally, I am just writing checks for the bills. Our gas bill for January was $253, and the electric was $119. January is the coldest month in Chicago, and we heat approx. 4300 sq. feet (full basement + 2 floors). Avg. outdoor temperature was 20 degrees F. (-6 C). I think that's pretty good. The electric is really not a factor; that one gets big in the summertime.

We're eating into the good work we did over the summer in saving electricity and gas. Oh well. Nice to have a warm house.

Last month was around $175 US for gas/electric. Water has a flat payment currently, but they just installed meters, so that will change this year.

We've had gas/electric bills as low as $70/month in the Spring or Fall, and as high as $425/month in the summer, when the weather stays 95-110 F for July, August, and September.

My gas/electric bill is ludicrous. Bloody cold winter combined with absurdly high fuel prices.
Loving the current British Gas advert. "We know it's been a hard winter, so we've dropped our gas prices!"
Yeah, after the cold spell. Well thank you master, may I have another?

My electric bill wasn't bad at all. Our gas bill was a bit higher than usual, but only by 30 bucks or so. Winter isn't the problem for us here--even though this is the coldest winter in over ten years.

Summer---especially August---is the money-sucking monster, because of the A/C being constantly run.THAT's when the electric bill becomes truly scary.

Hmm I do get out of that living in a nice British house. I could count the number of A/C units in private homes in this city on one hand, probably.

Yeah, we're fairly energy conscious around here, and our bill usually rates $120-$140 per month. The last bill was $298. The one before it was $238. I hate that water heater already.

Something like $157 for last month's gas, and about $40 for the electric.
