Anthony Bourdain said chefs play a game called "Last Meal." What always amazes him about the game is that these chefs almost always choose familiar or comfort foods over gourmet fare.
Mine? An Iowa corn-fed ribeye, about 1 1/2 lbs., done medium-rare. Drizzle some olive oil on top and crumble some Maytag blue cheese on it. Accompany it with a baked potato with sour cream, blanched spinach, and a nice red wine.
That's not my comfort food zone (sauerbraten is in there), but it would be my last meal.
