Your Hometown in Haiku

I submit mine as a riddle ;)

Valley of flowers
Almost launched the space shuttle
Where did Kes grow up?

not Titusville? I'm not sure why - I thought you were a UKer (Brit)!

Snow, wind, cold and rain
Our skies are grey for so long
Spring is long wished for.

All of the Houston area is big F***ing swamp, now mostly covered with concrete. But it is indeed a swamp. Most of the Gulf Coast is fairly swampy. We don't have creeks; we have bayous, populated with the occasional alligator or two. The average morning humidity is about 90%.

Just looked at a map. I never realized Houston was so close to the coast. I've never been to Texas. But I have been to New Orleans, so I can definitely see how it would be a swamp.

Texas is big enough to have all different kinds of climates. Houston is the swampy Gulf Coast (hence all the hurricanes), Dallas is a sprawling, Midwestern city and San Antonio is definitely part of the Southwest, in both culture and geography.

Austin is.....well, in it's own little universe. Probably why it's the only city in Texas I like.

I live in 'burbs, about 40+ minutes southwest of Houston. I'm less than an hour from the bay.

Oswego, NY
Lake effect snow storms.
Crazy with cabin fever.
Pray for early spring.

Mine's a riddle too, though, admittedly, not very difficult.

Wheedle in the sky,
Basking in the pouring rain.
May this be love? Nah.
Um, your "riddle" isn't difficult because your "location" says Brooklyn.
