Your First or Greatest Cartoon Crush

^I wrote a lengthy reply just now and for some reason hitting post logged me out.

Long story short, there is a large "furry/anthro porn ring" online made up of a fairly small amount of people, well hundreds for the internet who draw this utter shite for *all* animated and anthro fandoms. Most people give up after a while, these people have churned out a lot of it over the years continuosly.

Key point is, they're perverts with no life who want to destroy something nice. These characters are important to us and shouldn't be demeaned by that kind of waste of effort.

Gadget will always be the wonderful beautiful little genious she was and no one can draw that away. Same with every new crush since from her to Astrid of HYYTD and Sunset Shimmer of MLP.

Too wonderful a group of characters from comics, cartoons, CGI series and movies, etc to have idiots like that ruining it.

I love anthro/furry art myself, but I understand what you mean. My issue is that the adult rated stuff gets mixed in with the general population, and so you pull up a "safe" Google search and there's furry porn everywhere. It's to the point where I won't let my niece type in any cartoon character names without me hovering over her shoulder, just in case.

I don't, I can shrug it off after so many years quite easily, but others cannot and I see how if affects them.

Nice of you to judge me so fast but really, no. My point was to reply to someone who had been affected that way to point out to them that as you said, it really means nothing.

If he can regain an appreciation of the characters he loved back in the day then awesome, if he gives in to the idiots, it's his fault really.

^You mean SPCTRE?! Funny, I read his comment more as sarcasm. But I could be wrong, obviously, I misread your comment, too.

Yeah, I didn't mean anything by it really beyond making a cheap pun/throwaway sarcastic comment. It is a lame joke I keep going back to when the betrothed and I are talking about beloved cartoons from our childhood, I basically proclaim darkly, "yeah, porn has ruined that for me" just to freak her out/rile her up ;)

I do think there's a discussion worth having about the way the adult-rated stuff surfaces on the web and fandoms get mixed up with fetishes and adult communities, though, as Chem talked about and J. pointed out upthread.

^^ Ah, yes, newspaper comics. I had a big crush on Dale Arden in Flash Gordon during the Dan Barry years.

Speaking of that, what about Nancy's Aunt Fritzi? As a kid and not knowing about the origins of the strip, this brunette bombshell in tight sweaters alongside these cartoony round-headed kids... well, she was memorable.
Funny you should mention that. I just recently added Nancy to my GoComics list for the sake of nostalgia, and I quickly noticed two things: A lot of the strips have a reverent religious tone and Aunt Fritzi is a major bombshell. :rommie:

Nancy's nose looks like a d*mned coin slot on a vending machine when viewed face on! Anybody else ever notice that?

Sincerely,

Bill

Spider Woman was the earliest I can remember. I remember being so very young, but a Spider Woman cartoon came on.. the only thing I remember is that she talked tough to some nefarious men and it's insinuated that they fought, but the next shot is her spinning helpless through the air as she had been quickly defeated.n That cartoon was my earliest memory of me having a crush on a cartoon female.
I'll admit that these girls that seem like they should be able to fight bad guys but ultimately are captured or need help was something that added to it all for me.

Like Teela from Masters of the Universe. The Captain of the Guards.. she should have been a great warrior but she was always getting captured. I remember her being defeated regularly by the robot sparring partner she had.
Then Scarlett from H. I. Joe. I seem to remember an early episode where she was thrown in a dungeon and in the dungeon she was beaten up by a female prisoner.. one that obviously didn't have the military training Scarlett supposedly had.
Cheetara was another.. she could run real fast but using a net to capture her never failed. I remember three times when someone used a net to snag her.

I just watch Rainbow Rocks last night. Thought it was better than the first one.

Now that there's a perma-portal, are there any future plans to bring Sunnie on the show proper?

It's vast improvement over the first one, true.

I'm not sure, they might have her do a cameo in season 5. But we know there's a proper feature film in 2017, this gives them the oppertunity to have her in that if they want to.

(Inb4 7th Element).

Love the avatar! :D

I know I'd be thrilled if she made an appearance on the show, but I think I vaguely recall someone somewhere saying the two worlds were separate, but then we saw Flash Sentry on the show, so who knows?

I can't wait for the next Equestria Girls. That teaser in Rainbow Rocks was just too much! You can't leave people hanging like that!

Yeah I loved the teaser. Though it made me wonder (and this could just as easily be something I missed), where is the Equestria Girls world Sunnie counterpart? Or, if there isn't one, why is that?

Anybody else notice that the character model for Eep, the teenaged daughter in"The Croods" seemed to be 80's era Tina Turner?

Not my first, and probably not my greatest, but Drew Saturday really needs a shout-out.

Good to see her get some love.

^ Oh my, I see what you mean! Which brings me to ask: is there anyone who has a current crush on any cartoon characters? I have a number of them, myself. My biggest one is probably Twilight Sparkle, and before you look at me like that, you have to keep in mind that Tara Strong (the voice actor) knows that Twilight is extremely adorkable, and purposely exploits this!

My current crushes are:

*Kim Possible

*Gwen Tennyson

*Korra (Avatar: The Legend Of Korra

My past crush? Probably Velma Dinkley, but there are also a few others as well.

Korra. :adore:
Also, I'm noting a theme with your crushes (strong, independent, fiery), and I approve. :D
