Your favourite TV show ever?

These are my favorite tv shows:

End-aired shows:

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Star Trek: Voyager
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
FRIENDS
Home Improvement
Full House
Heroes

Currently-aired shows:

The Simpsons
Family Guy
Futurama (waiting for season 7 to start lol)
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory
Two and a Half Men (although...the production has ended after season 8, and Charlie Sheen got fired...fate of show is unknown)

Star Trek TOS, Nothing else comes close for me.

After that, I have great affection for Twin Peaks, Life on Mars (UK), and TNG/DS9

TOS. Has been for decades and that's not likely to change.

Some runners up include nuBSG, original Kung Fu, Law & Order, TNG, original Twilight Zone.

I look forward to the new seasons of Covert Affairs and The Walking Dead.

I don't think I could pick just one...

Star Trek: The Next Generation
Stargate SG1
The X-Files
The Simpsons
Futurama
Frasier
My Name is Earl

With an Honorable Mention to Firefly.

I guess it depends on the day, but:
Deep Space Nine
Seinfeld
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Cheers
The Bob Newhart Show
Stargate SG-1

All are up there for me.

It's really hard to pick just one. The runners-up would be

The Andy Griffith Show,
Star Trek,
Late Night with David Letterman,
The Wire, and
The Larry Sanders Show,

but I guess my favorite ever was Hill Street Blues. It was such an amazing show, unlike anything before, it came along at such a formative time in my teens and was very grown-up, and it was not widely popular, so it seemed very personal. I watched it every Thursday night by myself, after my parents and brother and sisters had gone to bed, then talked about it at school with my best friend, the only other person I knew who liked it. I have never found another show that combined action and character drama with social satire and comedy in such a wonderful way. And the theme song was one of the all-time best, too.

Freaks and Geeks

:techman: Right on! Always good to see "Freaks and Geeks" get a mention. One of my favourite shows that I didn't seen in its original run.

I didn't make a list because I thought this thread was only supposed to be about one favourite show, but since everybody else is doing it, here's my list.
And for those who don't want to click and read a top 20, here's the top 5:

1. "Batman: The Animated Series"
2. "The Simpsons" (although I hate it after season 8, aside from the occasional episode)
3. "Star Trek: The Next Generation"
4. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
5. "The X-Files"

I can give you a top five list:

Angel
Battlestar Galactica
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Lost
Star Trek: The Next Generation

Not in any particular order:

Star Trek
Star Trek: TNG
Star Trek: DS9
nuBSG
Freaks and Geeks
Boston Legal
Firefly
The Office
MST3K

Doctor Who is the best thing ever.

A top ten might include Buffy, Angel, Firefly, The West Wing, 24, Star Trek TOS and TNG, B5 (I guess) and BSG (grudgingly; it may well be the best-executed show ever, but amongst other problems it appears wildly misanthropic).

I hope to properly get into DS9 and Farscape soon.

As with all things in life concerning entertainment i can't pick a single most favorite.. i have a quite broad taste and so i can only pick from certain genres.

However there are some shows i watched religiously when they were on and later on DVD

Deep Space 9 (best Trek show ever)

The Whedonverse shows (Buffy, Angel, Firefly) for their sheer ingenuity, pop culture and occasional unexpected curveball

MASH - 'nuff said

Friends (though mostly seasons 1-4.. later seasons lost some of their magic and funny)

Greys Anatomy - sue me :p (it was a blast in the early seasons with right mix of comedy, drama and sappy lovestories)

Glee - the only show that can pull me out of the deepest funk, it's just a funny, light show

Scrubs - one of the all time funniest shows with some truly awesome characters

My all-time favourite TV show is the cartoon Daria. I don't think it's technically the best show ever made, but it's my personal favourite.

In my teen years The X Files was the only answer, but the later seasons really soured it for me, and there's a couple of shows easily comparable to it. Homicide: Life on the Street is another strong candidate.
