Your favorite TNG plot holes

But then we'd've missed out on Kira.
Not what I had in-mind at all. In the same way that Dukat was the main face of the Cardassians, Martok was the main face of the Klingon Empire (in DS9), and the female changeling was the face of the Founders, Ro could've been the face of the Maquis.

When it comes to the Maquis storyline, from an audience perspective, it seemed to be one of the weaknesses that the Maquis was a nebulous organization that only had Eddington and Cal Hudson to associate it with. But Ro could've been both a formidable and relatable leader that could've made the Maquis storyline much more interesting.

And as an actor, Michelle Forbes could've maintained the same level of involvement that she had on TNG, since all those actors I named (playing Dukat, Martok, the female changeling) weren't regular cast members either. Keep Kira on DS9, and keep Ro in the fight, right where we left off when she joined the Maquis in "Preemptive Strike."

One of my favorites is from Where Silence Has Lease. In any other episode, Wesley would have been at his bridge station for the entire time but when Nagilum decides he needs to see what death is like for humans, Wes is conveniently not there. Can't have the boy wonder getting bumped off, can we? ;)

low level shuttle passes would have been far more efficient,They still have working tricorders when they're on the planet so i'm sure it would work a lot better than abandoning the ship for ..reasons

Wes needed a bathroom break. Contrary to popular belief, the people from the 24th century sometimes do pee. Plot hole resolved.

No guarantee Wes would have died anyway. Naguilum might have wanted to kill an adult crewman first. Eventually, he'd have gotten around to infants and children. Observing differences in the subject's reaction, and that of those around them, when it was someone young. And old, for that matter, assuming Enterprise had any older folks on it. I expect he would have eventually snuffed Picard to see how the others reacted to losing their leader.

His shift ended? It's as easy as that. We don't see shift changes that often because usually there's no story reason for it.

Yeah. It was convenient, but I'd hardly call it a plot hole.

Yeah, but that's missing the point. In any other circumstance, Wes would have been there. The "hole" if you can call it such is that the story called for someone else to be sitting in that chair at that moment because, of course, you could not have Nagilum kill Wes, a major character on the show.

Given that no one is on the bridge 24-7, Wes's absence isn't a plot hole, it's just good luck.

And again, no guarantee that Naguilum would have started his homicidal rampage with a kid. Had Wes been there, he might have selected another random crewman at one of the science stations.

That isn't a "plot hole" though, since it has a perfectly sensible in-universe explanation; Wes' shift was over and somebody took his place.
Things being "convenient" for storytelling isn't the same as things being plot holes.

Even so, you would expect crew shifts, so that not only Wesley would have been replaced by that time, but also some other crew members on the bridge.

But of course even then it can be explained away. Wesley probably had a separate roster tailor made for him, as he also still had his education to complete.

Exactly that. He's an underage acting ensign, he likely has a lot shorter "hours" than all the others.

Mine's is not really a plot hole but the Mind-controlling Parasites from the episode "Conspiracy" who originally were thought to be in the role of the Borg were never mentioned (except for STO) again even though they are a big theater and apperently sent a signal to deep space calling for backup

Well, the Borg sent a signal to the DQ in Regeneration, set in the 22nd century, estimated to take 2 centuries to reach 'home'. So I'd say there's enough wriggle room too to have those parasites return in a successor series set in the 26th century or so :)
