Wow, first to reply! :)

Season 2: "Where Silence Has Lease"
Season 3: "Booby Trap"
Season 4: "Remember Me?"
Season 5: "The Game"
Season 6: "Starship Mine"

Season 3 - The Defector
Season 4 - Family

Actually Where Silence Has Lease is a favorite of mine too. The space void setting is extremely cool, and I love the suspenseful, creepy music that plays throughout. However, although Haskell's death is freaky and cool, it's brushed aside as at the end, Picard treats Nagilum as if he's just given him a challenging and stimulating debate, and not as if he's a weird being that inflicted a rather horrible death upon a member of his crew. Then the crew laughs and jokes around on the bridge as if nothing tragic or even mildly disheartening has happened. Poor Haskell. "Steer clear of holes! Chortle!"

That said I will now locate a picture of Nagilum to make my new avatar.

If you'd asked my opinion of each season's best, the answers would be slightly different. Theses are my favorites

S1 Where No One Has Gone Before - It's just got everything Star Trek is all about
S2 Q Who - It's just got everything TNG is all about
S3 Sarek - It's like watching sci-fi Shakespeare
S4 Clues - Nothing entertains me more than when they are all completely baffled
S5 Conundrum See above comment. I just love watching this one
S6 Schisms - Believe it or not, I am continually captivated by that episode
S7 All Good Things... How could it get any better?

It changes, but today it is:

Season 1: The Big Goodbye
Season 2: The Emissary
Season 3: The Offspring
Season 4: The Wounded
Season 5: Darmok
Season 6: Relics
Season 7: Lower Decks

This list is bound to change when I start rewatching TNG on blu ray later this year.

S1: Coming of Age
S2: Q Who?/ The Measure of a Man
S3: Hollow Pursuits/ TBOBW Part 1
S4: Family
S5: The Inner Light
S6: Tapestry
S7: Preemptive Strike

I had to list more than one episode for a couple of seasons because I just couldn't decide.

Since we're going by personal favorites and not best, I'll go. These are the episodes I'll watch over and over again without hesitation.

Season 1: Where No One Has Gone Before
Season 2: Q Who
Season 3: BoBW
Season 4: Tough one -- Toss up between Family, the Wounded (both of which are good character-driven episodes), and QPid
Season 5: Darmok
Season 6: Relics
Season 7: All Good Things

1 -- Where No One Has Gone Before
2 -- The Measure of a Man / The Emissary
3 -- The Enemy / Sarek
4 -- Final Mission
5 -- The Inner Light / Unification, Pt. 1 / Ethics
6 -- Chain of Command, Pt. 1
7 -- Lower Decks / All Good Things...

1 - The Last Outpost
2 - Contagion
3 - The Survivors
4 - The Drumhead
5 - Ensign Ro
6 - Time's Arrow II
7 - All Good Things...

Really? To me, the whole Enterprise sister ship thing and that talking monkey-face thing on the viewscreen was what made "Where Silence Has Lease" kind of fascinating for me to watch. Oh, and I'm sure most of you by now know how much of a sucker I am for those dark corridors.

It was kind of creepy too how when Riker and Worf pass through certain doors, the rooms are different than what they're supposed to be.

I followed the rules and picked one episode for Season 7 but I'd also add "Dark Page" because it was the episode that made me a TNG freak in the first place. I can't remember if it was this or "Phantasms" that were my first ever episodes. I think I was, like, 3 or 4 when I first saw both or either of these episodes.

Season 1: "The Arsenal of Freedom"
Season 2: "Where Silence Has Lease"
Season 3: "Booby Trap"
Season 4: "Night Terrors"
Season 5: "Power Play"
Season 6: "Starship Mine"
Season 7: "Dark Page" (even though it was a sad episode)

S1: Conspiracy
S2: Time Squared
S3: Yesterday's Enterprise
S4: Data's Day
S5: Conundrum
S6: Face of the Enemy
S7: All Good Things

My favorites were usually the unexpected, change-of-pace type stories that broke away from the usual routine (because let's face it, most of the time the show could be awfully formulaic).

I'm staying away from 2-part episodes and cliffhangers, well... just because. :)

Season 1 - The Big Goodbye
Season 2 - Q Who
Season 3 - Sins of the Father
Season 4 - Future Imperfect
Season 5 - The Inner Light
Season 6 - Relics
Season 7 - Parallels

Season 1 - 11001001
Season 2 - Contagion
Season 3 - The Defector
Season 4 - The Drumhead
Season 5 - The Inner Light
Season 6 - Face of the Enemy
Season 7 - All Good Things (Or Preemptive Strike)
