Your Fall TV Viewing Schedule

I'm really surprised that so many people are listing that Goldbergs show. From just seeing the commercials it looks horrible.

it's a C list show and I don't care if I miss an episode, but it's amusing for the 80s nostalgia. DVR is a beautiful thing

My favorite shows won't be coming back until next year, like:

Parks and Recreation - Final Season
Glee - Final Season
Orphan Black
Orange is the New Black

I do know South Park is coming back this week and I might try Gotham, but there's not really much I'm excited about.

It takes the right frame-of-mind to enjoy it, not to mention "fond" memories of the 80s. The show is pretty fun, to me at least. Certainly not "horrible", though I don't think I'd strictly call it "good." I just dig the 80s nostalgia.

Returning Shows:
Agents of SHIELD
American Dad
Arrow
The Big Bang Theory
Castle
Doctor Who
Elementary
Family Guy
The Goldbergs
Hawaii Five-0
Law & Order: SVU
The Legend of Korra
The Mentalist
Modern Family
NCIS
NCIS: Los Angeles
The Newsroom
Once Upon a Time
Parenthood
Resurrection
Saturday Night Live
The Simpsons
Sleepy Hollow
South Park

New Shows:
Constantine
The Flash
Forever
Gotham
Gracepoint
NCIS: New Orleans
Scorpion
Star Wars: Rebels

Yep, this pretty much sums it up for me too.

I just realized I wrote "Green Arrow" in my OP. What's that, a new series?

I forgot to mention Reign and SNL (Season 40). The announcer passed away and is going to be replaced by SNL alum Darrell Hammond.

Might try Star Wars: Rebels when it premieres. Other than that, there isn't anything I watch that is new anymore.

Brooklyn Nine Nine
Parks & Recreation (not airing in the fall, I know)

Maybe also Once Upon A Time, Sleepy Hollow, Survivor and Supernatural. Those are ones I lose track of and play catch up.

Season 40, wow. I can still remember watching some of the first-runs from the first season when I was a kid. SNL really was groundbreaking back in 1975, there really hadn't been anything quite like it on American TV before.

Oh, yes, Supernatural. I LOVE that show. That's not back until Oct. 7th.

The main returning shows I'm watching are Supernatural, Person of Interest, The 100, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead and Survivor.

The new shows I'm watching or will sample are NCIS: New Orleans, The Flash and Gotham.

Gotham
Sleepy Hollow
Castle
Blacklist
How to get Away with Murder (Was awesome)
Scandal (Not so awesome)
Bones (Horrible mess)
Once Upton a Time
Resurrection

I'll watch Downton Abbey when the DVD's I ordered arrive around the first of February and last season's The Big Bang Theory when it's available on Netflix (sometime in October, IIRC). That's probably it.

I do like the way the schedule has changed. First off, I'm most likely to be out of the house on Mondays and Thursdays, and almost none of the shows I care about moved to those days. Also, they moved Brooklyn Nine Nine to right after Simpsons and moved Amazing Race away from the same timeslot. Makes things a lot more convenient for me.

Certainly, here in Al Ain, in the UAE, I will be looking forward to the return of the "مسلسل", (musalsal) better known as the Arabic Soap Operas to us Ex-Pats. You do not need to speak a word of Arabic to know exactly what is going on. Lots of make-up and swarthiness. Mystery Science Theatre 3000 does not hold a candle.

And, of course, The Coalition. it is a Military Madcap romp about an unlikely group made up of Western and Arab forces, chasing a group of surprisingly well-armed and well-funded Extremest across not one but two sovereign countries, and the nutty hijinks that ensue. Should be good viewing.

I think that's also true for American soaps, that you can watch on mute and know exactly what's going on.

At this point, I don't watch anything live anymore. Here's what I'll be watching on Hulu Plus or OnDemand after it airs:

Castle
Hawaii Five-0
Doctor Who
Hell's Kitchen
Bones
(maybe)
Selfie
Elementary
The Flash

Watched my DVR recording of "The Mysteries of Laura." (A crime-investigation procedural starring Deborah Messing.) Didn't like it too much, it seemed to be trying way too hard to be quirky, light and different -particularly with her character. Not going to stick with it.

My recording of "Madam Secretary" was delayed due to a football game, so I need to watch it on OnDemand.

The sit-com pilots that I've tried so far have all been good enough to go back for a second episode:

Black-ish. A to Z (only for my massive crush on Christin Milotti). Manhattan Love Story (really didn't expect to like this one). Bad Judge (it's Bad Teacher... with a judge!).
