Sundays: nothing unless there's a WWE ppv on. wife watches Once Upon a Time and Revenge which is usually on in the background while I'm playing a game on the computer.
Mondays: Gotham, Scorpion, The Blacklist
Tuesdays: The Flash, NCIS: New Orleans, Forever
Wednesdays: Survivor, Criminal Minds(for Wife), Nashville(for Wife)
Thursdays: Bones(for Wife) not much else that night I watch
Fridays: nothing, usually out with wife and kid to get out of the house
Saturdays: for now, football if there's a Notre Dame game on

I watch an appaling amount of TV!
I have trouble thinking of any reason to watch Gotham.
An origin story every week = I know how every episode ends.

Think you're being foiled by your own preconceptions there bud, but each to their own.
At the very least, if you're retreading well known mythology, the standards for writing are much higher. Either that or you need to completely re-stylize it like the Nolan Batmans or NuBSG.
That's the thing though; it isn't really well known mythology. There are countless stories about Gotham from the start of Batman's career to the end of it and beyond, but relatively little regarding Gotham prior to that. Sure there are a few stories, and many villains backstories have been alluded to, or outright spelled out along the way, and even stories that tell us what happened to Bruce Wayne between his parents being killed and him becoming Batman. But not much about Gotham, and the people who live there, in that period.
Sure, you can look at Wayne, Gordon, Kyle, Cobblepot, Nygma..etc, and think you know where they're gonna end up. But isn't the journey just as important as the destination?
The excitement of the journey derives from lack of knowledge about the destination.
I'd say that's a pretty narrow way of looking at things. You can know exactly where you're gonna end up, but still enjoy the ride anyway.
I loved Lord of the Rings, but I knew how it was going to end.
Pretty much the same story with any movie adaptation of a novel.
Watching a movie adaptation of a book you've read isn't quite the same thing though. You may know equally much about how it ends, but it's still attempting to be a faithful adaptation of a single creative source's cohesive vision. You could approach it with no knowledge of the novels and still enjoy it.
Prequel TV series tend to be set up like a game of reference-spotting and popularity-piggybacking. If they are honestly doing storylines that have nothing to do with existing Batman mythology and could honestly stand on their own, then I might like it. But you guys have convinced me to check it out. What channel is it on again? Are all the episodes streaming on the site?

Saw today's episode of Gotham. Aesthetically, production-wise, it's awesome.
But it does seem creatively constrained by the mythology. And they really Sin City it up. Everybody knows about Batman and all the Batman villains, they don't need to spend this much time on foreshadowing. Decades of media have done that for us.

Looks like A to Z, Manhattan Love Story, and Selfie are all destined for cancellation. Too bad, I was enjoying them more than I expected to. Mainly for their insanely beautiful female leads :love:
Mulaney is also totally getting cancelled, but I don't mind that one so much...

Well, at least you gave it a try.
I think it's terrific, and Fish adds a new element to the story.
I haven't watched the latest episode of Gotham yet, but while I'm enjoying the Jim Gordon arc, I'm getting tired of the Penguin-Fish arc, and those characters in general.
I think I'd like the show a lot better if it didn't force itself to spend so much time on established Batman villains. The Gordon vs Corrupt City parts are far more interesting.

I actually kinda liked the show. If only to gaze lovingly at the female lead.
Selfie and Mulaney are almost definitely cancelled. Much as I love Karen Gillan, I'm not nuts about that show. Mulaney was a complete disappointment. A to Z will probably be cancelled; again another cute show I'm enjoying and it helps to deal with my How I Met Your Mother withdrawal
