Your Dream Car Part II

The last thread is here...
Your Dream Car? Started By Me. :)

I previously said; 2010 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

My newest dream car I would love to own is...

2010 R8 Spyder 5.2

What vehicle has caught your eye lately and you wished you could own???

I'll almost certainly never have one but I'd like a DBS.

I do like the R8. On a slightly more sensible level though, I know someone who was testing an S5 as a company car and that was nice.

One that gets a minimum 50 miles per gallon, goes five years with no repairs, parts are fairly easy to find and not expensive, and has a high resale value. That's my dream car.

My Golf comes close on fuel, has gone six years with no repairs necessary (though that's helped by maintaining it myself), parts are easy to find (But not necessarily cheap unfortunately) and buying one second hand doesn't seem to be cheap.

In good condition, the one that I have in Exchange and mart seems to go from around GBP4k to just under 8k.

Of course, fuel consumption will vary given the usual conditions and there are more economical versions around than mine.

EDIT - In addition, the mileage I get is using Imperial Gallons rather than US. There is a bit of a difference and I'm not sure you can get my specific variant over there. However, you may be able to get the Bluemotion versions over there and they should be nearly efficient enough on fuel for your needs. (Of course, to buy, they can still be costly)

Like I said in the last version of this thread, Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6. Though if I somehow managed to get one, it would probably have ridiculous mileage on it, cost lots to get parts for and hippies would probably try smashing it up, so maybe I should just a get an eco car like a good sheep...

Fuck that shit! If you can get one, get one! Live in the moment! Internal combustion cars are gonna go the way of the dodo in regular use withing the next 30 years in any case, so enjoy the growl the engine while you can man! :techman:

Thinking about another Mustang. A new 5.0L perhaps, like this one, but without the spoiler.

Dream, out-of-reach car? The new F458 is.... amazing.

I like that they've put a 5.0l in the Mustang, but it's still less pretty then it used to be :/

As for totally unrealistic for me, Koenigsegg CCXR.

I wouldn't worry about internal-combustion-powered cars becoming obsolete any time soon. Remember when they predicted we'd have flying cars by now? Or that atomic power would give us electricity too cheap to meter?

As for my own dream car, I'd like something unique, something no one else on the road has. Like one of these babies.

if I had the time, know how, disposable income, and sufficient proficiency in stick shift; a fixed up old (mid 60's or earlier) truck with the basics (AC; AM/FM/CD with dials, yet a digital readout)

I'd love to have a Porsche 356B Coupe... Sadly I am no where near being able to have one. :(

I knew someone who had one that was in pristine condition that was a charcoal gray metallic. Beautiful car. :techman:

1968 Mercury Cougar - long, low and mean as hell

Pontiac G8 GXP - very sad that Pontiac no longer exists, and double-very sad that GM won't bring this car over as a Chevy Caprice now that Pontiac is dead :(
In my opinion, GM has really wasted the opportunity to bring this excellent Holden to the states in favor of making even more beige 'crossovers' and crappy underpowered rolling appliances . . .

1966 Ford GT40 MK I (replica pictured) - click the pic to an awesome video of a lap around the Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans)

In closing, I wish american automakers would stop its focus-group targeting and pedestrian appliance-vehicle pandering, and make cars that are true driving machines again.

My dream cars, in no particular order....

1.) 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am (And yes, I would have it look just like KITT from Knight Rider, lightbar and everything.)

2.) DeLorean DMC-12 (And yes, I would outfit it exactly like the Time Machine DeLorean from Back to the Future.)

3.) 1969 Dodge Charger (But I wouldn't paint it like the General Lee. I'd paint it blue, put an American flag on the top, and name it the General Grant.)
