Your CBS series ideas

I'd love something set on a new ship about a year after The Undiscovered Country/Generations, dealing with a new era after the signing of the Khitomer Accords.

If you're going back to the Kelvin Timeline, do John Cho as Captain Sulu on the Excelsior.

Temporal Frontier - In the 27th Century, a group only known as 'The Liberators' threaten to go back in time and alter history. The Federation are losing a war with the Klingons. They had actually joined the Federation, but the Chancellor saw it as a fall from grace.

Captain Malcolm Gregson commands the TSS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701-H, Starfleet's first timeship. He pulls together some of Starfleets most talented officers from history to complete missions throughout history. One has a great-great grandparent who is known to have sufered a terrible fate. Two are starcrossed lovers and another is a member of a long-extinct race. From Klingon history ot the American Civil War, from the Eugencis Wars to the legendary 5 Year Mission, to Wolf 359 and a period beyond the Dominion War! All of time and space is at stake

How about a series where every episode they borrow sets from other shows run by CBS and have Trek actors, in character or out, do a different themed episode? So a cooking competition show with Shatner vs Mulgrew vs Brooks this episode. Next episode is a crime procedural set in Hawaii featuring Wang, Montgomery, Pomers, and Silverman. NEXT episode is set in the Supergirl universe, and features several ST cast members doing a one-off Legion of Superheroes thing. And so on.

  1. Small ship on actual science missions! A bit like traditional Star Trek - exploring strange new worlds and stuff - but instead of flying around in a powerfull capital ship, have them be on some Millenium Falcon/Milano-from-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy sized ship
  2. SPACE COPS (I'm actually only half joking :guffaw:) - Basically, a small team of elite Starfleet detectives, getting send on mysterious crimes traditional police can't solve - X-Files-style, over multiple planets
  3. Starfleet Academy - old-school idea, but make it like Harry Potter: Each season a school-year, with lots of tests or smaller missions as episodes, and a larger season arc each season that's part of a larger mystery story about the academy
  4. Space Western Firefly/Cowboy Bebop style - Starfleet officer gets framed for crime/mutiny he didn't commit, escapes, and works in territory outside of the Federation (who's still hunting him) with a bunch of outlaws to survive, get rich, and prove his innocence

That's an idea I've favored for a while now...like Firefly, the main cast would be the entire crew of the ship. No redshirts!

Isn't that what Disco S3 is gonna be like?
The crew were evacuated to the Enterprise except for the Michael's friends who chose to stay and travel to the future with her.

Well, I've floated this idea for a while, so let's turn it into a proper pitch, shall we?

Star Trek: Syndicate

Follow the story of Captain Killy, as she escapes from the Klingon gulag Rura Penthe where she spent the war after a twist of fate had thrown her into a universe so unlike her own and yet still familiar. Watch her jump headfirst into the world of organized crime in search for meaning and a better chance at survival, getting involved with the Orion Syndicate, quickly rising through the ranks amidst a complex web of favors, lies and betrayals as she takes on heists, smuggling runs and various other shady jobs that take her deep into the Alpha Quadrant's seedy underbelly.

Think of the level of wackiness in Who Mourns for Morn?, with some appearances of our favorite USS Enterprise as Killy becomes an occasional thorn in their side, and maybe a few encounters with Mudd as well.

Some sort of Truman Show/Matrix/Future Imperfect-to-the-10th-power thing where someone realises they've spent their entire adult life on the holodeck.

Star Trek: The Correspondent

A show that follows a promising young reporter who works for a news agency/other news media (not necessarily FNS) who has nose for news. S/he goes where no reporter has gone before. Undercover sting jobs, out at the frontier embedded with Starfleet or allies of the Federation where every day could be the last. With a cameraman in tow, our reporter follows stories of intrigue, lust, war, heroism, greatness and sadness. More often than not, s/he is in the thick of the action, unable to confine hirself to mere journalism.

Said reporter could be Jake Sisko. Or not. Whatever works.

Given that Cirric Lofton is 40 now, maybe he'd be a better fit for a "grizzled veteran" that takes the hotshot under his wing. Either in the field with the young reporter, or as their editor.

Starfleet Academy
Instead of a Earth-bound Academy, there's are small academy ships.

The idea is that the best form of training is on the job training, kind of like what we saw with the Jedi. Small groups of cadets are attached to a young officer and sent on series of diverse missions.

The missions could be combat, science, search and rescue, diplomacy, law enforcement, intelligence, etc..

My idea for a long time has basically been "Star Trek: Daystrom"

Follows a Daystrom Sociologist as he visits Federation worlds, hangs around for a few episodes, learns about the people, solves a mystery or problem and then moves onto another world. Show would be super comfy and relaxed and actually give the Federation itself a lot of desperately needed official world building.

If anyone here as seen either Mushishi or Kino's Journey, pretty much exactly that, in Star Trek.

Sort of the first two seasons of Game of Thrones?
I don't know. I had never seen any of it up until 5th season, and by then I figured I'd just wait and binge the whole thing when it was done. From what I'm hearing, I think I'm glad. There's a lot of comparisons being made to "Lost".

A straight-up TOS reboot in the same visual style as Discovery.

A lot of people have been suggesting a Pike spinoff and I think after DSC Season 2 that would be great, however since ENT ended we haven't exactly been starved for TOS! I can't see them rebooting it as they've made it clear DSC is set in the Prime Timeline.

I loved the JJ Movies, we also had New Voyages and Continues representing Years 4 and 5 on the 5 year mission. Their profile has been undeniably high in fandom, even having people who worked on TV Trek involved in production both in front of and behind the camera. The idea is also a comic now, however past ltierature has also covered it.

I might be interested in a Telefilm/miniseries shiowing Kirk and Spock meeting and Kirk becoming captain of the Enterprise, however other than that I don't know what they can say about this era that is new.
