Young Justice-Tonight!

I totally expected to see Batman monitoring the conversation after Black Canary told Robin their conversation was private. The whole episode was a bit weird with Canary and The Forever People. Even the spherecycle didn't feel right. It reminds me somewhat of the thread about what villains would work in the Nolanverse, I'm not sure they've figured out a world that fits their take on YJ.

Dinah isn't well known for her counselling techniques but remember in the comics she has in the past mentored and provided advice for Roy and Mia when they've had problems including her own team mates in the Birds of Prey. She's even counselled Babs on occasion so it isn't a foreign thing, just not really what she's known for.

I wish I could get into "Young Justice". I've seen random episodes here and there and it does look interesting but as I've mentioned in previous posts there is something missing in this show that doesn't really make it a must watch series for me. I can't put my finger on what that thing is.

I thought it was a great ep. Superboy doing something without the rest of the team was a good change of pace.

The other subplot with Superboy was very... well, it was extremely Kirby. I mean, good grief, they threw in everything. I've vaguely heard of the Tomorrow People, but they've got to be the most obscure Kirby characters ever featured in animation outside of Batman: The Brave and the Bold -- and frankly I think they would've been a better fit for that show. They're so weird that the episode even had to make apologies for things like the "Cowboy" member of the group. And seriously -- they turn into a Megazord?

My exposure to the Forever People is limited to one appearance in Suicide Squad around 1990 and a few appearances in the Superman books a few years later. I think Infinity Man is normally supposed to be more human-statured than portrayed here. In one of those appearances he teams up with Captain Marvel and comments on their similarities.

The super-cycle is supposed to be their usual vehicle and I was trying to figure out why they weren't on it. I got a good laugh when it showed up a little later. And then I realized what they were driving instead. It was the Newsboy Legion's Whiz Wagon. Everything Kirby, indeed.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I really liked the stuff with Black Canary and her counseling the team, lots of great development there. I'm starting to wonder how much longer it's gonna be before they get Wally and Artemis together though, because they seem to pointing out their attraction to each other more and more often now. I'd never heard of The Forever People before, but I thought the stuff with them was actually pretty fun. Definitely seems like a setup for Darkseid. I'm assuming the
"Invasion" season 2 is named for will be Apokolips then? I was also glad we finally got to find out what Sphere is. I have to complement then on setting up mysteries like that, and then actually revealing the answer in a fairly reasonable amount of time.

Just saw the episode.

Wow. That character payoff was fantastic. Last week's ep was good, but this gave those events resonance and meaning in regards to the future.

Loved the Sphere being the Super-Cycle. Conner's growing up.

young justice is now getting better. does anyone know how many episode this season will be?

and what is DC Nation 2012 going to be?

DC Nation is going to be a block of programs centered around DC comic characters. Pretty much as explained in the commercials.

The first season will have 26 episodes.

DC Nation will be DC's own block on Cartoon Network, consisting of the Young Justice and Green Lantern animated shows, as well as a new Batman cartoon and a series of animated shorts Plastic Man, Super Best Friends Forever (apparently on Wondergirl, Supergirl and Batgirl), Doom Patrol and Batman by Aardman Animation, the studio behind Wallace & Gromit.

very cool thank you, dc rules.

One of the things I noticed about Disordered is ...

In Miss Martians shrink-wrapping session, she gets very upset that Black Canary says she's white. Does this suggest that M'gann is really a White Martian [as in the comics]??? That J'onn is not really her uncle??? Just as Green Arrow isn't really Artemis's???

^Yeah, that's pretty clearly the implication, if you know enough about the comics version of the character to recognize it.
