You know you're old when ...

Our ancient cat got in the way when her food was being chopped up a bit and ended up getting one side of her whiskers cut off by the scissors. It doesn't seem to bother her but every time I see her I start singing "Froggie went a courtin' and he did ride c.. c.. c.. crambo". Anyone who immediately gets this is officially old.

you know you're old when you start your sentences with "remember when...". or worse, "in my day..."

ugh. I'm hoping I never get there.

You know you're old when you can sing the Animaniacs theme and Tiny Toons without needing help because you watched it every single day after school.

^ You know you're old, when you were already too old to watch Animaniacs after school, because Tiny Toons didn't even start until you were in COLLEGE.

Okay....

I guess I'm still safe as a young whippersnapper.

You're not old until you start saying things like "those damn kids and their crazy music.". Which I started saying when beak dancing came out.

^^^ THIS. All of it! :bolian:

To this day I find myself singing, out of the blue, "I hanker for a hunk o' cheese."

I remember when he taught us how to make orange juice popsicles too:). I always loved those ABC shorts. They kind of tied all the shows together and it felt like the network really cared about having a whole time period just devoted to kids.

Me, too! I also find myself bursting into "Don't drown your food" since every restaurant in Texas DOES drown everything.

They just don't have a "kid's block" anymore, not like they did way back in the dark ages of my childhood. I loved these old PSAs and I did actually learn from them.

<-- You know you're old when you can remember drinking this guy's beverage.

Or even worse, "You kids today . . ."

You know you're getting old when you find out that the cliches about getting old are true. Like the one about all the cops and firemen looking like kids.

I didn't get the OP's reference, but then I was never a Tom and Jerry fan.

By that yardstick, I am officially old. I think I mentioned in another thread once upon a time, not only did I drink the stuff, but I had all the character's cups that you could send away for. :bolian:

You know you're getting old when you can spend a weekend with your parents without losing your mind. Perhaps because it's already lost?

i knew i was old when i decided to listen to the pop music station on the radio and accidentally listened to the christian rock station for 10 minutes before i noticed.
