You know you're a geek when... (complete the sentence)

You know you're a geek when you go to a convention and the actors there recognize you. (It's happened three times so far, that I can be sure of. And I don't even work with them at Polaris - I've never been in that department.)

You know you're a geek when you're first reaction to something being out of place or new is to point at it and try and make the sound from "The Body Snatchers"
You know you're a geek when you've been giddy for three days because Michio Kaku started following you on Twitter. (Yes, he follows me! And it makes me feel like a boss! Woo!)

(*gasp* I'm so jealous!!!)

Yep! I'm not not really the star struck type, but it's really cool to have someone whose books you've read and enjoyed following you. And the best part is that he's following me because he likes my art! Specifically, this painting.
Well, it is a really cool painting.

You know you're a geek when you watch the musical Evita and think to yourself, "Hey, it's JS Bach's Prelude in C Major again!"

... when, faced with the question "which number comes next in the sequence 3, 1, 4, 1, 5..." you answer with "9."

... when you always insist that your tea be "Earl Grey" and "hot."

... when you know all the words to The Elements by Tom Lehrer off by heart and in the appropriate order. (This one definitely applies to me.)

... when, as a result of some typos, people become suspicious of you when you carry an animated computer image about your person.

... when you write jokes in base 13. Also, if you get that reference. ;)

And you know you're a geek when you pre-order a book just because you've read an internet-rumour that the author is working on it :p

You know you're a geek when you watch Big Bang Theory and know everything the guys are talking about. EVERYTHING!

^Including when they're wrong!!!

Thanks. :D

I should have said, tsq, that's very cool. Painting and following.

It'd be almost worth joining Twitter if people like that followed me.

You know you are married to a geek(and are therefore a geek yourself) when your husband can pick out what movie you are watching on tv with only 4 notes from the intro song having played!!!(it was Blade Runner--yes, a bit easy but still geeky):techman:

You know you're a geek when you get excited that Amber Benson (of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame) 'liked' a post you made on facebook.

Yes, that was me.

You know you're a geek when you know more about action figure packaging and paint variations than you do about some of your own friends.

I've made her spill a drink or two laughing. Don't know if I should be proud or sorry.

You know you're a geek when a stranger overheard you and submitted this conversation to overheardinnewyork.com. And not only that, whoever submitted it referred to you as "Cute Nerd Girl." I'm #2, btw.

LOVE IT!!!

My husband is like that with the old 'Wild Wild West." But then he can name the actress guest-starring AND others shows she was in back then. He didn't even have to SEE the screen, he got it from the dialogue.

He's got a memory like a steel trap. I've got a memory like a steel sieve.

You know you're a geek if you get in heated arguments over the flaws and merits of SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE.
