You folks coming to DC to see Scott Bakula????

No... completely disinterested in doing so.

Sorry to hear that. You're bound to miss a great time! Wonder if any of the patter will include Trek talk...

commodore 64: sorry you can't make this one!

I'd love to, but my job and family keep me tied down to this part of Virginia much of the year and I don't get to travel north very often.

I don't think I've made many. I liked to go when Bakula was still with Star Trek, being an Archerite. But I love hearing how well he's doing and have certainly liked catching up on his other endeavors -- including Quantum Leap. He was a class act and helped create -- even to a diehard Trekkie like me -- my second favorite character.

Understood.

You can be sure if Scott talks Trek at all during the show, it'll get shared. Besides which, you KNOW somewhere between picture taking and autograph signing at the reception he'll be asked about Shatner and Boston Legal. Will let you know what's learned.

As the founder and President of the Tuckarch Totality it sucks to pass up a chance to see or even meet and talk to Scott, but whaddya gonna do. When you can't drive four hundred miles and see something, you can't drive four hundred miles and see something.

Yup. I get one splurge treat a year and this is mine for 2008. I'm hoping there'll be a CD or DVD out of it; Bakula has one of the loveliest stage voices I've ever heard.

Jeez, that's too bad. Don't suppose there's a train that can get you there and bak for a reasonable amount, huh? Some friends are going that route rather than flying/driving. Sorry you've got to miss it!

Wish there were.

Roanoke hasn't had passenger train or metro service of any kind in years. We're talking seriously about running a Washington-Charlotte Amtrak line through here since we have a lot of rail mileage here and are a hub for coal and other transport trains, but right now the only ways out of town are by road, air or foot.

I'd love to be there (it's happening right here in my neck o'the woods too!) but unfortunately I won't be around that weekend.

I concur about his voice. aside from every other wonderful attribute the man possesses, it's one of his loveliest assets. I loved loved loved him in Shenandoah. I wish he'd do more theatre. he was gracious in the autograph line too -- one of the friendliest people I've ever had the fortune to meet.

to those of you going: enjoy!
