You can take issue w/DS9's

DS9 had the best theme. TNG's theme was too bombastic for a show about talking. TOS was before my time. Voyager's was all right. Enterprise was . . . well, Enterprise.

bombastic? are you joking?? That's the TMP score - Goldsmith at his best and almost universally praised

No, the TOS theme was always not nearly as bombastic as TNG's. TOS's was almost spiritual in comparison.

DS9's theme is ponderous, pompous and interminable.

As to the others ...

VOY's is unremarkable, which sets it ahead of the curve in its present company.

TNG's is, essentially, stolen from another era, though near the top when that's not taken into consideration. DS9's doesn't even make it into this one's league, let alone ballpark.

TAS's is derivative.

TOS's is cringe-worthy.

ENT's is either wonderfully inspiring or insipid and maudlin, depending on your level of sentimentality.

But DS9's stands as by far the worst of the lot, solely on its pretentiousness, by a distance that would impress Secretariat.

DS9's theme is majestic.

It is slow because it's appropriate for the opening sequence, which is essentially an external tour of the station, and appropriate for the series which is dark and serious in tone.

As such, a fast upbeat theme would not have been right for DS9.

The pace of the theme increased later in the series because the station became more active.
