Well, I started feeling that way after I advocated that women should be happy with their breast size (aside from health problems arising from very large sizes, which is a different matter). You're born with what you've got. Just accept it and make it work how you want it.

I don't like conjecture if I can help it. I'm not insecure about it (at least not anymore), but it's not any actual trouble to find out, particularly if one is genuinely curious.

One thing I've observed over the years is that the idea of "average" depends on who you're talking to and where they get their data. You commonly see 6" as a mean average in the press, but various medical studies disagree with that, with many suggesting something more akin to the low 5" range as being average.

Anyway, my experience as a gay man is that most men either exaggerate deliberately or have no idea what they're talking about, and if a man claims he has 7" then the real-world number is usually 5.5".

There are two different accepted methods of measurement. The first, as mentioned, is to measure the erect length along the top prom the base of the pelvis to the tip. The second method, favored by the medical community, is to instead stretch the penis while flaccid. Doctors swear the second method provides an accurate measurement, but I think it's bullshit. Using the stretch method, I'm like 5.5in. However, my average erection is about 6.5in., and probably breaks the 7in. mark when I'm really hard.

Measuring while erect makes the most sense to me, because that is the state in which it is put to use. When they figure out a way to have sex using a stretched flaccid penis, then I'll consider that method to be an accurate measurement.
