Yo Brits! When does Primeval S3 start?

Goddamn it, I thought it would start in Janurary of '09! Now its March and no episodes released yet!! Can you guys give us a bearing from "the inside" when season 3 (or series 3, as you guys call it) starts? All the Primeval fansites were buzzing last year about a Jan '09 start but most posts are now 6-7 months old. It takes more than a year to produce 10 episodes? :wtf:

I believe it was postponed when they decided to show Demons in January. I'm wondering whether they're holding it back in order to air it at the same time as Robin Hood, which I believe is going to be next month. Also, they're currently repeating it on ITV 2, so I'm assuming once the repeats have finished series 3 will start, but there's been nothing announced as far as I know.

'Spring' was mentioned in the Radio Times when they spoke to Ben Miller about Moving Wallpaper S2 and Primeval was mentioned.

enjoy it while you can, it's prolly gonna get canned due to ITV's penny-pinching...

yeah, ITV, that makes sense, kill your drama shows that people like in favour of retaining Simon FUCKING Cowell and crap-ass talent shows...

I always find it bizarre when even a show as big as Doctor Who will be a couple of weeks from broadcast and no one is sure what time it will be on, UK TV seems a bit different from US in that regard.

I think it's partly to try and avoid counter programming.

Which is because of the old guard at both companies.

Prestige shows should be screamed about when they come back on - but they often aren't!

I have this strange fascination with Hanna Spearrit. I think it's the fact that she's always in her underwear. Which is always good.

I read somewhere that all of the main cast are replaced by episode 3 - anyone know anything about this?

bullshit. Connor, Abbie and Cutter are all back. AFAIK, so are Jenny and Lester. There's 2 new characters, a new captain and an egyptologist woman.

Three new characters - a new soldier to replace the character who died at the end of season one, the Egyptologist played by Laila Rouss, and someone played by Jason Flemyng who gets too curious about what's going on (and, reading between the lines, was originally going to be the journalist character from season two episode six).

The most intriguing news is that - somehow - Lester and Connor end up as flatmates...

^Cool, thanks for the heads up. Now the question is, when will BBC American debut it.
And for those without BBCA, Sci Fi-sorry, 'syfy', has reruns to s1, and will start running it next month following Moonlight.

I don't know, but given how long ago BBC America announced it, I'd think it'd be pretty soon after ITV airs it.

I've just finished rewatching the first 2 series in preparation for the new series.
Looks like it might be an interesting series.

From Digital Spy

Primeval star Andrew-Lee Potts has promised that the show will be "darker" this year.
The actor, who plays Connor Temple, has claimed that the ITV1 drama series will be unrecognisable due to changes in storytelling and special effects.
"I can't say too much but Connor gets a major storyline, and he has to grow up in quite a serious way," Potts told The Telegraph & Argus. "It's probably fair to say this series is a bit darker than the first two, and while we're getting a few new faces, we might be losing some too."
Asked about the programme's visual effects, he replied: "We've only just seen the finished episodes ourselves. I know I say this every year when a new season comes out, but this time it really blew me away.
"The effects team has absolutely pulled it out of the bag - they're pushing the limits of what can be done on television."
Primeval returns to ITV1 on March 28.

Last week, the Daily Star (can we just take the 'Oh, well if it's the Star then it's got to be a lie' stuff as read?) said that

One of the main cast will die early on in the season. The report said they knew who, but weren't telling, which may mean they have a preview disc of the episode.
