Yet another South Park season!

I liked the Tweek/Craig episode more than the last few, because it felt like it was actually about something different for once. I also found the anime pictures of them to be endlessly hilarious

I've loved this whole season. But I agree with you that this episode was especially funny.

Loved South Park since the beginning, but I just started watching the new season the other day and half way through episode 3 I officially gave up. When half way through the episode I haven't laughed or even smirked once, and am actually really bored, I have to decide I've got better things to do than watch this show anymore. Simply not funny.

This season is definitely a litmus test.

But it is South Park, of course, the show that made fun of Ben Affleck twice, once by having him be the lost child of literal buttface parents, and then by having him have sex with Cartman's hand.

Yeah. I usually love the show and their targets are usually spot-on but that was the one time that I really felt like they were going too far with someone that really didn't deserve it.

I love South Park, but I'm so sick of them doing the same "theme" in every single episode this season. I get it, they don't like political correctness. It's great for one episode but I'd really like to move onto something else now. It's so repetitive.

Well, since it doesn't seem like political correctness is going away, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that South Park episodes making fun of it aren't going away either. (Now, if both went away, I think that's a compromise that we could agree on. :p )

Last night's episode was better. I liked the idea of PC Principal being unable to discipline or talk to Jimmy. And I like that they're finally building to a sci-fi/fantasy story.

Last night's episode was hilarious.

"Did you perform cunnilingus? That requires a separate consent form."

I was starting to wonder if they forgot about Mr. Garrison, so I'm glad to see they picked that back up.

Why do I have a feeling that PC Principal is going to end up on a rooftop with Jimmy, lamenting all those moments that will be lost in time, like tears in rain?

I don't think this is the best season but I've liked where the show has gone the last few weeks. Can't wait till the final two episodes.

Yeah, I have that vibe too. The logo on Leslie's shirt looks a lot like the Reddit alien, too. I wonder how that will be relevant.

Wow.

That was underwhelming.

I don't know what happened. Maybe the network interfered. Maybe the writers decided they didn't want to lose PCP as a character so there was last minute rewrite. Maybe Stone and Parker just had too many balls in the air for the number of episodes and couldn't stick the landing.

But that was such a letdown if it was a series finale people would be comparing it to Dexter, Seinfeld or HIMYM.

I thought that was the best episode of the season :p I hope they go back to doing single episodes after this, I think the season as a whole suffered by sticking with one story.

Parents and children pointing guns at each other and angrily shouting never stopped making me laughing

Yeah, this one seemed very hackneyed and thrown together. I agree it appears as if they had too many loose threads that had been started throughout the PC arc and ran out of room to tie them all off. PCP should have suffered a fate equal or greater to that of Chef, IMO.

I'm bumping this as I couldn't find a thread for South Park's 20th season. I wondered if anyone was still watching and what their thoughts were so far?

After the last couple of serialised seasons, I felt a bit lukewarm to another. There have been some really good episodes in the mix, yet sometimes elements I didn't like were stretched out somewhat.

So the first couple episodes came and went, and I thought they were okay. But I think since then the season has been a lot of fun, and is turning into one of my favourites. Mr. Garrison has made me laugh trying so hard to get people to dislike him, but only making him a stronger presidential nominee. He's really been taking on the Donald Trump mantle quite well.

The internet troll story was slow at first, but again that has built into something really interesting. Gerald is just trolling people because he's a dick, and for no other reason. Dildo Baggins is doing it because he's also a dick, yet he was bullied as a kid and he wants to make a difference politically.

The member berries are absolutely hilarious. I love the idea of nostalgia being dangerous, and how they're like a dangerous drug. It's alright when we're waxing lyrically about how good things were in the past, but we always tend to forget the bad stuff that happens, and thus doomed to repeat it.

In terms of media nostalgia, I also love how J.J. Abrams keeps being mentioned as a bad guy. I loved the new Star Trek films and The Force Awakens, but it just made me smile so much.

Cartman also showed that despite appearances in recent episodes, he's still a scheming son of a bitch. :D It's been strange seeing the new Cartman after he was completely cut off from the internet, and seeing how he dreams of being like Matt Damon in The Martian when he's happy was a funny thought. But he lied to his new girlfriend to try and cover his own arse.

The portrayal of the Danish is pretty funny as well, kind of reminiscent of the treatment of the Canadians.

Oh I have to give a special mention to the show still managing to gross me out after 20 years of continually doing so. Seeing Gerald shit in Sheila's mouth really had me shouting at the screen in disgust, but then in the same episode, we have the boys at school flashing their junk, and we can actually see it? :wtf:

I think this season of South Park is getting our culture exactly right, but it's just not that funny this year.

They are spending the entire season on things that only needed one committed episode. Their high concept ideas like Imaginationland only needed a trilogy tops.

I spend the episodes thinking more "Yeah, good point. Yeah, got that right. Totally correct", and less actually laughing.
