It's great that this man is finally going to get some measure of screwed but it's all dwarfed by,

1.) how long he got away with it
2.) how many others get away with it.

From JLaw to Terry Cruz we are finally getting all these stories about this very problem.

Plenty of Victims finally being able to come out due to the curtain of expectation lowering.

My biggest problem though, is how many of the non-victims with the influence knew and did nothing?

Those people I'd like to see equally strung up next to the Weinsteins.

While allegations of this nature are very serious and need to be thoroughly investigated, this topic may be more directly suited to the TV & Media forum.

What?

It seems like it was hidden secret that everyone knew or suspected. The question is how do you bring down someone with so much power that one person alone isn't enough to do it? It seems he could make or break anyone's career unless your were of elite status so how do you fight that? If one person comes forward and nobody else does it does nothing so it has to almost be numerous people at once and then you got to have evidence because you know someone like him has the money to basically bribe his way out or simply out lawyer people into giving up or loosing. Even now I suspect he will get away with it. I think he will disapear for 5 or 6 six years and return after rehab and maybe he finds Jesus and once again becomes a important figure in the business, if not quite as powerful as he use to be.

I'm not in Hollywood.

But if I had to place a bet, I'd bet that others in money and power in Hollywood knew, and in Hollywood money is influence, and popularity is power, and I have a hard time believing those who knew were unable to act.

I may be projecting a little bit but I know a woman, very close to me, who as an adult I found out she was molested by her father while she was a teenager.

As you can imagine, it was a situation where some "knew about that guy". In my estimation any one of the adults who knew, had the power to stop it and chose not to. I have almost as strong a feeling about them as I do the very man who did the act.

If you know, are able and don't try then I believe you to be culpable.

For me I know my mom was sexually asaulted and also my ex-dad abused her and my sister is going through the same kind of situation so I feel somewhat connected to the issue because I grew up with that step-dad and still dealing with my sister and her situation and I know that trying to do the right thing isn't enough. DHS has been alerted to my sister's situation for years but she won't leave him and cops don't do anything unless you press charges. My mom has tried to get her leave him but instead she sticks by him and even wants her daughter to move out for calling 911. Just knowing isn't enough and nothing gets done unless the victim basically takes the lead which also sometimes isn't enough only making it harder for woman to feel comfortable to report the crimes, I suspect.. I know my mom eventually divorced my old step-dad after years. My grandparents wanted her to leave him for all those years yet things didn't change until she did it.

You then take that kind of abuse to a work area were people are mostly going to be looking out for themselves and I suspect it gets even harder for any kind of justice to be done. Making matters worst is many of the people who can help mostly likely are just as bad or have their own secrets along with the fact that people tend to not like to get involved in other people's drama because they don't feel it is their place and it gets to a point were it does feel like a hopeless situation.
