Yelchin sees Klingons

I really doubt we'll see smooth-foreheaded Klingons in this movie, even though it will mean contradicting Enterprise's pointless explanation for the make-up change.

The general public knows Klingons as this: :klingon:. The general public doesn't even know that Star Trek: Enterprise exists.

Well, if this movie is a "reboot" then Enterprise's explaination still stands. Isn't the point of this movie to be somewhat "different" then we are used to?

Again with this "reboot" stuff, PLEASE SOMEONE SHOW ME THE QUOTE WHERE SOMEONE IN THE PRODUCTION STAFF HAS USED THIS WORD ON SAID THE FILM WILL IGNORE PREVIOUS CANON.

Well, if that Toy Fair report is true, they're changing almost nothing.

Errrr, does this mean we get smooth klingons or crunchy klingons?

I heard the Klingons will be half bump head down one side of their body and half smooth down the other side, like Belle and Lokai. And they will have no dialogue but "K'PLAH" in the whole movie.

^^Great Picture! is that from Full Frontal? I never saw that TV show since I live in the U.S., but I know it was like our Saturday Night Live and Bana was a regular cast member. I wonder if anyone could find a video of that Star Trek skit.

Actually, we don't know how the "smoothies vs. bumpies" thing was in the Empire during that period.

All we know is that MANY Klingons lost their ridges, but likely not all.

We also know there was an effort to eventually restore all to their "proper appearance" as proved by the look of Kor, Kang, and Koloth on DS9.

TMP took place only two and a half years after the five year mission, and the Federation already knew of "bumpy" Klingons at that point, even without the contribution by "ENTERPRISE" to the continuity.

As for that "contribution", it wasn't needless.

It was a great addition, a nice touch.

"They are Klingons and it is a long story."
"What happened? Some kind of genetic engineering?"
"A viral mutation?"
"We do not discuss it with outsiders."

That should have been the end of it.

It'd be nice if there were a mix of Klingons in the new movie: both smooth-forehead and bumpies. Paramount considers the Season 4 ENTERPRISE explanation for the differences canon, so unless J.J. Abrams said "fuck it" and decided to ignore the recent in-universe explanation for the mystery I'm guessing SOME effort will be made to have TOS-era Klingons look at least somewhat human since even the original series shows them this way.
