Arctic blast hit us today, and seems like it will last through next week!

http://booneweather.com/Forecast/Boone

Our high today is 18 F, high tomorrow is 17 F

Our lows are 7 F tonight and 8 F tomorrow

Windchills as cold as -15 F

Right now it is 15 degrees and the windchill is -3

Our forecast has our lows around 10 degrees most of this week, and highs in the lower 20's

Is it cold in your neck of the woods too?

Was 2 F when I was out earlier today. I love it! It was actually cold enough for me to zip up my coat and wear gloves, though.

Yes, it has been cold here, but not like that kind of cold. The highs have been in the 40s and 50s with the lows in the 30s...to me that is really cold and requires several layers, and I'm still not warm.

Luckily the sun is out today so it is just a little chilly.

I do want to say though, that having been to a few other states with different climates, our cold out here feels different. Cold and rain in Florida felt wonderful, even with low temperatures. Those same temperatures in California feel much colder because there is no humidity. You can feel it in your bones, especially if there is even a slight hint of a breeze.

It's 20'F (wind chill brings it down to 10'). It was cold enough that I put on my runner's jacket my brother got me for Christmas. I even zipped it up halfway.

In our family, it is well known that if I put on a jacket, everyone else better bundle up in parkas.

Not cold where I am.

In fact on New Years Eve it reached 38C (100F). It is going to be a bit cooler today - maximum of 17C (63F) is expected. A pleasant day tomorrow with a maximum of 24C expected (75C).

The coldest temperature ever recorded in my city is -2.8C (about 27F).

The last time it snowed enough to settle in the city centre was about 23 years ago - the higher suburbs (i.e. above 200 metres) get snow more often.

Mind you - Mainland Australians try to tell the world that Tasmania is cold.

We've been pretty lucky over the holidays, but it dropped down to -28C with the windchill last night, and it's still only -23C with the windchill...brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I just want it to stop. I want summer. I don't like snow. I wish I had money and I could move away from this.

I moved to the cold! I like it, I like that when it snows it doesn't melt, and the snow stays fluffy and not icy. little miss trampledamage however has been asking to move somewhere where it doesn't snow. California is her current choice.

I can not imagine why you would do that. When it's over a foot of snow and you have to clean half a foot of that snow off the car every morning, it's just not fun anymore.

Then again I've never liked cold. I think I actually will move whenever I have the opportunity, not much keeping me here except my family and the fact that I can't afford a move.

I like the cold. I don't find shovelling snow particularly fun, but it's a part of life where it's cold so I accept it. Mostly I like that even when it is cold here, the sky is still blue and the sun shines - growing up in England and then living in Ireland, constant grey skies and drizzle is depressing.

It snowed in suburban Boston today and I loved it. I love winter.

I snowshoe regularly, and for my birthday in a couple weeks, I plan to rent some x-country skis and try that out.

It's hovering either side of 0C here in England and lower temperatures and snow is forecast for the week ahead. In 36 hours time though, I'll be in 30C sunshine. :p

We had our "arctic blast" in the middle of December, a week when the daytime high never got above 25F/-4C. We had two days where the high was 8F/-13C. Without factoring in windchill. A lot of firewood got burned that week.

If this is a normal winter that should be it for us and cold weather for the season, at least where I live. We'll probably get a couple of more snowstorms, but no more cold like that.

Forcast is fir 16F Wednesday night.
We don't usually get that cold around Dallas area. At least it is supposed to be dry.

We haven't been above zero F all day...it's going to be -15 to-20 below zero tonight! :techman:

I've had my car parked outside all day, I have to trudge out there and see if it'll start! I'm not holding out hope...

Yeah, we're skirting close to zero ourselves. Nice and brisk! :D

I will never understand how someone says 0 F is not cold. That just boggles the mind. I thought it was just a Southern thing.
