Yeah so like it is really cold and stuff!

Its frigid outside this morning; and we're in the second day of a slow moving, ferocious nor'easter. Clouds of chickadees, jays, titmouse, woodpeckers, and nuthatches are devouring my birdfeeders and suet cages :techman:

I will never understand how someone says 0 F is not cold. That just boggles the mind. I thought it was just a Southern thing.

To me, that's around when I start to notice and take precautions about how cold it is. I'll actually wear my gloves, instead of just leaving them in the car. Above that, it's usually not that big of a deal to me. Chilly yeah, but not actually that cold. When it's -10 F and below, that's cold to me.

Current Conditions = 2 degrees F, 4 inches of new snow, 12 already on the ground. Winds at 30 mph with gusts to 60 mph

My pipes have been frozen since Friday. It only got down to -22F, so I didn't expect that to happen and didn't prepare. I'm guessing that moving my furnace must have left a cold spot in my crawl space. I'm waiting for the plumbers to come and thaw out my pipes, but they've been kind of busy the last few days.

Not to be rude, but how many "winter is cold" threads do we need? I feel like a new one gets started every day.

We get it, guys. Winter is cold. Winter has been cold for a really long time. Winter will probably continue to be cold for many years to come.

^Well, ours is extra cold this year. We actually have snow for more than two days, and an exceptional amount of it too. The forecast tells us we're having night temperatures between -10 and -15C (that's between 5 and 14 F) and during the day it hovers around 0C (32F). A bit too cold for my taste!

It's been below freezing for the last few days, and will be off and on all week. I'm good without a coat until we drop below 50F. Then I need a jacket. Get below 40F, and I need gloves & a coat, and if I'm going to walk the dog, then I need a hat and scarf and layers. Brrr! :D

I can't say that I live in an area that's facing a true arctic blast. All of you people talking about temps near 0 F truly have my sympathy. It's been around 30 F in the D.C. area for the last few days. Pretty much not going to get out of the 30s all week and may get even colder next weekend.

And I'm miserable.

I can't tolerate the cold very well. I've lived here my entire life, and with each passing winter, it gets more difficult to bear. I am seriously thinking about re-locating to someplace warmer.

geez, if this wasn't cold enough this weekend is going to be even colder, low of 5 degrees, wind chills below -20 with the wind, also snow almost every day this week

Well, during the day here it's been in the single digits. Today it was 3F. But it's winter. This is what it does.

It is currently 14' F here, with the wind chill and blowing snow bringing it down to 1' F.

Tommorow night it's to be -44 Celsius (-47.2 F for barbarians) in a part of Sweden close to the Norwegian border. The record...um, recorded low is -49 Celsius. We will only have -19 Celsius, and even that be a frozen hell.
