Well if it’s advertised for Hulu and you live in the UK, you won’t be able to watch it as Hulu isn’t a thing in the civilised world. That sentence made no sense whatsoever.

Hulu isn't in Canada either, but I can view it.Well if it’s advertised for Hulu and you live in the UK, you won’t be able to watch it as Hulu isn’t a thing in the civilised world.
Yeah, that shit drives me fucking insane. It's a continuation of regional DVDs, which frustrated me for years with Doctor Who releases."The uploader has not made this video available in your country."
Can someone explain to me the point of region restricting advertisements? In this day and age especially, it just boggles the mind.
That makes no sense (not what you said, but the concept behind it). Why the hell should any studio or network want to limit the marketing of a product regardless the immediate access?Well if it’s advertised for Hulu and you live in the UK, you won’t be able to watch it as Hulu isn’t a thing in the civilised world.
IIRC Yorick met a woman whose boyfriend was a trans man who got murdered by the Daughters of the Amazon.FX's Y: The Last Man Series Will Explore How Sex Doesn't Define Gender
It interesting because the original comics really didn't touch the gender/sexes subject. I remember only one character that perhaps was a transgender man, and I'm not even sure, perhaps she was a cross-dresser/drag king who was doing it just for the money (in the series some women missed the men so much that they were content with even a passable imitation).

So, the only trans man in the original comics was a dead trans man. Killed off stage.IIRC Yorick met a woman whose boyfriend was a trans man who got murdered by the Daughters of the Amazon.
Unfortunately. But it's something the show can fix.So, the only trans man in the original comics was a dead trans man. Killed off stage.
Yeah, I think that's a factor some people are kinda neglecting to take into account; it's an adaptation, which by it's very nature allows for certain things to be changed to suit a new medium, and yes, the new times in which they are being made.Unfortunately. But it's something the show can fix.
Yeah back then, that was the best you could hope for. It’s honestly amazing how quickly things changed because the comic isn’t that old. I’m interested in how the show changes things. I just hope they keep most of the basic structure of the story, that ending is equal parts heartbreaking and wonderful. The last scene with Ampersand still makes me tear up.Yeah, I think that's a factor some people are kinda neglecting to take into account; it's an adaptation, which by it's very nature allows for certain things to be changed to suit a new medium, and yes, the new times in which they are being made.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm reasonably sure that back when the comic was first published, having *any* trans representation that wasn't horribly stereotyped, cliched, or otherwise wrongheaded and prejudiced was damn near unheard of. So by the standards of the day it had above average representation. Said standards have changed, and so I see no reason why the representation within the story can't follow suit.
... What will happen to them...?Is the inclusion of trans people important for the story or something? Seems rather obvious what will happen to them.
Not to the specific story being told around Yorick, but it what happened to trans people is a question raised by the premise that people want to see addressed. Is the inclusion of trans people important for the story or something? Seems rather obvious what will happen to them.
My thought would be that the company with distribution in those counrties only want people to see their ads. They all do their own ads, so they might consider the other countries' ads competition that they don't want their viewers to see. That sentence made no sense whatsoever.
I don't think advertising is covered by distribution rights. If that were the case then I shouldn't be able to see *anything* to do with any TV releases outside of the UK. And yet I do, all the time.
This is not a legal requirement, it's a choice, and that choice just strikes me as dumb. I mean is there such a thing as too much exposure? Too much positive word of mouth?
I assume all trans women will die. Seems rather obvious... What will happen to them...?
Depicting and exploring what happens to literally *every* kind of person is kind of the whole point of a story like this. Saying a minority should be excluded from that exploration because you personally think it's obvious what's going to happen is just more proof that they need to be included more, not less.Is the inclusion of trans people important for the story or something? Seems rather obvious what will happen to them.
Yes, but we are interested to what will happen to trans menI assume all trans women will die. Seems rather obvious
I assume the same as the women. They try and survive in this new world.Yes, but we are interested to what will happen to trans men![]()
It’s as important as what happens to cis people. They’re a type of human and this is a story about humans, so it makes sense to include them. Ignoring them doesn’t make sense. It’s just creating a fantasy world for people who should be ignored. Is the inclusion of trans people important for the story or something? Seems rather obvious what will happen to them.
