X-Men Spinoff Featuring Gambit Gets Greenlight

Do you know the FF story's issue number? I'd like to make sure I don't miss it on my run since that seems pretty cool.

I think the Marauders are terrifying villains and the Mutant Massacre is a great (if extremely depressing) story. I'd love to see them (and Gambit was retconned in as well), but I think it best to at least introduce the Morlocks first.

It was in a limited series - X-Men v Fantastic 4. I think Sue and Kitty come out of the story best overall. It slots in after massacre and before Excalibur started.

Gambit is a childhood favorite of my since I was a kid in the 90s watching the animated series on Fox. It gonna be hard for me to watch an actor I don't really care for play my favorite Marvel hero in a movie. I did like it when Taylor Kitsch played Gambit in Wolverine Origins. He certainly fit the mold of Gambit back when his hair was longer and his mannerism.

That's never good. Although at least this time it actually wasn't for "creative differences".

So has this even started filming yet? I was just thinking that how this is meant to come out a full month before Dr Strange (October 7th for Gambit, November 4th for Strange) and whereas with the latter we've at least seen a couple of set pics with Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and now seen a pic of Cumberbatch in the full costume. Also know it'll star Rachel McAdams, Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen, etc etc

Whereas for Gambit... well it's got Channing Tatum in it...

I mean if they're keeping it all under wraps then fair enough, but it just seems unusual.

Filming has been scheduled for March for quite a while now. Not sure it'll make that October release date, but they've been saying that filming will start in March since last summer.

Doug Liman is still directing this, isn't he?

Hey look, I found the old Gambit thread!!

Anyways, now that Gore Verbinsky is supposed to direct, and they're trying to sign up Daniel Craig to be the villain, Fox has decided to put this back on the schedule.

Gambit is now scheduled for February 14, 2019.
(which was previously one of the "untitled Fox Marvel movie" spots)

If the finished product stinks, I won't care, but if it's cool and fun, hey, a cool and fun X-Men-related movie. :bolian:
